Thanks dudes. I'm going to continue buying games I won't play for 3 to 6 months. Until Dawn seems like a good winter game though.

Not really a whole lot actually. Back when it started, there were rumors that your Steam level correlated to something similar to a Reeelapse Gold account, but as I leveled badges, I just got a higher increase in random packs of cards popping up in my inventory. You could technically sell them off and make some money, but nothing Will Rahmer level. However, since I got myself to a pretty high steam level, my Aspergers makes me want to continue to level badges. If you don't give me your cards, I'll trigger.

This rings true for me this holiday season. Bought Grim Dawn, Axiom Verge, Resident Evil Rev 1, Dead Space 2 (screw you Slinky), SOMA, and some other shit. Until Dawn is downloading on my PS4.

Is this controversial? DS2 was great.

He hates the Dead Space games. Just a joke.

Until Dawn is awesome. The graphics are great and the sound design is particularly strong, too. The framerate is a little jarring and I wish it was smoother. There's still a bit of that uncanny valley feeling with the mouth movements but the atmosphere is perfect and makes up for it. I love how it plays up old slasher film tropes so well. Bickering, sex crazed young people walking into stupid areas like, "Oh we can't go this way? Let's walk through this dark mountain mine!" The relationship stuff, totems and Peter Stormare are superb. I hope this has as much replay value as I think it does.

Steam really fucked up yesterday, . Totally shitty reply to what could have been a big problem for a lot of people.

It seems fixed now. Depending on what I clicked, I saw three different user accounts under mine. I can only imagine how many people saw my shit. From what I read and understand, I don't think purchasing under other people's credit card information would have worked.

I was going to do a best/worst of 2015 thing, but I haven't played enough actual 2015 stuff to justify creating a list. Same thing happened in 2013 and 2014. It's fine, since I replayed many of my all time favorite games this year (as well as old games I always wanted to beat), and while some are starting to age poorly it was better than my old ways, where I would have played The Order or Battlefield Hardline.

If anything, I have to say Bethesda's signature open world first person RPG mechanic wins the year for sure. Finally played Fallout New Vegas, replaying Skyrim, and presently playing Fallout 4 (You can even add in several hours of Oblivion). I have put a ton on hours into these three games, enough so that I would never venture to tell my wife this is what I've decided to do with my life.

I think I'm just going to keep Skyrim-ing and Fallout 4-ing until Rise of the Tomb Raider is released in January. Skyrim doesn't really matter, but I'll probably rip right through Fallout 4's main quest starting tonight. Then there is Turok, which is also on no rush mode.

For such a huge fan of Doom as I am, I never play user made maps, but the set that comes with the new version of Brutal Doom are pretty damn good. It has some scripted moments that are just wonderful to see on the old game. This should have been Doom 3.

So, the levels that come packaged with Brutal DOOM v20b are the "official" Brutal DOOM single player campaign and not just randoms stuffs. I thought it might be the case, but after restarting it with a HD texture pack and actually listening to it (I actually didn't have the sound on when I first installed it) it has voice work. I know it's really just a mod/total conversion for a 1990's game but it's 2016 GOTY so far, red tape and semantics be damned!

Fucking Wii U's Wi-Fi has just mysteriously stopped working. I've done some tricks I've read off the internet and nothing has worked thus far. Being that Mario Maker needs to be online for a majority of it's content I'm not happy. My kid hasn't freaked or anything, but I think it fucking sucks for him. I'm not against buying a whole new unit, but if I have to Nintendo chances of me being a future customer after the Wii U is pretty much DOOMed.

Yeah, get that gimmicky shit out of here. It's probably going to be the 3-D debacle all over again. I would like to see how it works with porn, though.

Got Quake up and running with that mod/source port I posted above. Take away the obvious things like primitive/boxy geometry, and ancient models/animation, and you are left with a complete eye candy experience. Man those textures are sharp and beautiful. The lighting is Gothic gorgeous with Dario Argento sensibilities thrown in. At times, I get a serious Dark Souls vibe from the game. It's obviously not as hard (although the third enemy type you ever meet, pretty much right off the bat, is a huge monster with a chainsaw and grenade launcher) but the aura has that mean spirit about it. I tried this game when it first came out and then 5 years later. Both times, I hated the grey angular look of the game. Now, it feels like a different game, and I can enjoy the id-ness without the cosmetics boring me. While I did beat Quake 2 a few times, that game had the same problem. I'll need to see what source ports it has as well.

I'll probably goof around some with Fallout 4 tonight. I've been using a Fall/Autumn theme mod for most of my journey, but now that New York is finally cold (and I've seen enough winter in Skyrim), I might go summer:

...but, it's Skyrim that I guess will be getting the real love tonight. I read the Dragonborne DLC makes reference to things if you finish the Main Quest, so I guess it's the Main Quest for me. After I kick the Imperials in the nuts. I was pro-Imperial my first play through. Why? I don't know, maybe because they look like Romans. Try to cut my head off? See how you deal with a Sith that can conjure a Dragon from the realm of the Esoteric.

I see you.

I bought Undertale but I'm struggling to get through the second hour, I hope this picks up because right now it feels like I'm wading through waist high porridge to get a few segments of witty/cute dialogue.
