MetalSucks was never great but it's gotten so much worse since the original founders left. That Benton article is hilarious though. He's basically saying "I'm White Trash from Florida and when I grew up we called each other F@gs. It's not because we hate gays, it's because we're stupid!"

20 something years later, I still look at Blabbermouth fairly regularly. That is in no way saying it’s better than anything listed here. Just an old habit that I haven’t kicked. I’ve never posted/commented there at all

Blabbermouth is fine as a news site. It's pretty impartial and they report on pretty much every press release out there. Comments are a nightmare and always have been but it's not bad otherwise.

I like a few of their albums but Erik has always been the worst thing about that band. Doomsday For the Deceiver has some great songs and would be a complete masterpiece if it weren't for the lyrics being so fucking stupid. It's like hair metal lyrics about fucking and horrible innuendo over great jackhammer thrash music.
