Last night, I unlocked all posts on my Blood Meridian S*bst*ck and made them free. Anyone who wants to view those essays can, but I won’t be posting new ones. Any revenue that comes in will be donated to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

2. My YouTube Channel (which has been devoted to Cormac’s work) won’t feature any new McCarthy content. I’ll post lectures on other books & authors.

Weirdly, I have an article on Cormac’s Gnosticism about to come out that I started last year. It will be my final piece on him.

3. Headed to the Witliff Collection in San Marcos early next year to read the new trove of papers/letters that will be made available in February. My fear is that we’re about to find out a lot of really dark sh*t. The first biography of Cormac will be published next fall.

4. The Vanity Fair article is a mess, but I fully believe that Cormac had a relationship with a minor. I’ve seen people try to defend him—as the article itself does—but this is indefensible.

5. I’m not saying people shouldn’t (continue to) read McCarthy’s novels—everyone has to figure that out for themselves. Personally, it’s going to be long time before I can even think about revisiting his work. I imagine seeing everything in the light of these new revelations.

This is one hell of an Over rated place . the prices are out the roof

You have to keep paying high $$ for everything you touch or not even touch

Their sports is a HUGE JOKE 1 tennis court for the whole complex and almost no one now even plays tennis but yet the JOKERS that runs the place wouldnt allow pickleball to be played .
UPPER BIG SHITS promises indoor facility for sports 2 years in the making but yet not even one pebble was moved since

They charge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for activities through out the year but GUESS yes right NO INDOOR SPORTS FACILITY for 6 moths almost but you still pay for it .
They call a small area some folks washroom stall is bigger a tabletennis and fools ball game table area very poor as they cramp 3 sports tables in one small area forget it if you accidentally smash a table tennis ball wrong you will hit the fools ball table player in the head .. LOL this is a joke

The worst honeycrisp I've had is still lightyears beyond the second best apple. I genuinely will NEVER buy a gala, fuji, red or golden delicious, Granny Smith, Ambrosia, Pazazz, Sugarbee, Lemon Apple, Cosmic Crisp, Pink Lady, Snapdragon, Lucy Rose, Sweet Opal.

The ONLY other variants I'd buy, IF honeycrisp is out, or extremely overpriced, is Envy, Hunnyz, Sweetango (which is just a less sweet, less tart, less crispy honeycrisp) and a variety I haven't tried before.

even though h-crisp has had a fall from grace, I am generally with this maniac
my wife and I tried a few of the "best" apples and none of them could really compete

it's only in the last year or so that I realized gala & fuji are no longer the cool/exciting apples they were when I was younger ... apparently people hate them now

still way better than red/golden d & granny smith IMO. those "classics" are basically trash (although I can still enjoy the sour insanity of a granny)

I think Fuji is the perfect middle of the road apple. Granny Smith I like, especially in a pie, but for a red apple I love a good Fuji. Cortland are good too

i've also enjoyed Munsters pinball when it was at a bar here that has weekly industrial music nights, no cover because it's just a practice session for DJs who work a nearby goth-themed normie nightclub with a reputation for assaulting guests and being generally sus. i never go anymore just because there's always something better happening i know about now that i'm tapped into the underground
