I watched the new Battlestar Galactica(which is in apple spellcheck) a few months ago. I sort of powered though it so theres a ton I don't quite get, and won't probably ever because the ending was so terrible it even made deep space nine look bad! I also took breaks to watch shows about heroin addiction so it was a really fun time!

I think it took me a good 2-3 episodes of that first season of The Wire before I even understood what anyone was saying.

I felt the same when I first saw it, there was a moment in time a few eps in I started wondering if it deserved all the hype and if it was even worth my time to continue, glad I stuck with it, once I got used to the pacing and style and names/personalities started blooming into the foreground, by eps 6,7,8 onwards I was completely glued to the screen

Falling Skies season 1 - 5/10 - A generous rating if you fucking ask me. Got me excited at first for some Half-Life-like alien counter-insurgency stuff, lots of stupid family drama horseshit, but seemed to be building up to something great and then BAM the season finale hits you in the face with a giant jew sandwich.

Durarara!!, I give it a 9.5/10. It's a fantastic anime. The story was engaging and the characters were interesting. Also, the music and animation were fantastic. I definitely recommend it.

Mad Men - All seasons - 9/10

I have no idea why I like this show so much. I feel like I should hate it, but I love it.

it's an amazing period piece with amazing characters and amazing acting. the storylines are completely compelling even though i can rarely relate to them whatsoever. the language of the era seems very well represented, as does the delivery and peoples attitudes in general. beyond that it's about something that people rarely think about: the ground floor of a particular portion and era of the world that really helped to shape and define the current world and how people not only relate to products, but to each other.

and obviously theres hardly any need to mention the perfect costuming/set design.
