it's a piece about how similar phenotypic traits don't necessarily suggest a close genotypic relationship. the fairy has wings that aren't unlike the butterfly's, but she's a mammal like the rabbit (the wings likely are only similar by chance, but have evolved in a completely different way from the butterfly wings) and so sees fit to have sex with this rabbit- crushing the butterfly, who had fallen into this common evolutionary misunderstanding

I didn't stand up for myself properly on page 2. This comic is still flawed. If you are brushing away a veil you are not going to be pushing down on the top of your lady-bride's crown/lid hard enough to pop the thing. It's a stretch and I will not be damned for ruling that out.
