Arrested Development Season 2 - 9/10

Somehow actually manages to be funnier than season 1. Of course it helps that I watched it all in relatively quick succession, so it was easy to pick up on the in-jokes like Buster changing his mind about being home alone after a quick glance at the vacuum robot and stuff like that. I'll watch season 3 next, but I've already got my disappointment helmet strapped on...

Breaking Bad season 1 (finally) - 8.5/10

It was pretty slow in the middle, but also extremely bleak...

It was only 7 episodes long (writers strike as I recall), and it felt like they accelerated his transition from mild mannered sad sack to bald bad ass in the last couple of episodes a little too quickly, but given the circumstances, it kind of worked.
also a few plot points that have thus far gone under-developed (like the Gray Matter guy and his wife...do the delve more into that later on?)

Supposedly the last couple of seasons blow the first 2 away? I can't wait to see where this goes...

his "transition" to heisenberg is awesome, but not as perfect and badass as it may seem to you now (see: the rest of the goddamn show). he's just a guy who has convinced himself he's going to die real soon. there's a reason why it feels like it worked...because the characters are written well and their motivations for their actions are relatively clear UNLIKE A SHITTON OF OTHER SHOWS.
and yeah, they go back and cover a lot of ground from previous episodes, and even previous seasons.

They started out like a house of fire in the series, but do milk it from time to time getting a bit soap opera-y. But generally to the show.

it was comedic for about 5 minutes... it just didn't need a whole hour for them to fuck around with a fly, it didn't advance the story at all.

It was an episode for the guy in the movie theater who only laughs at obscure jokes. It was not a bad episode, but it didn't help or hurt the show. It was just....nothing.

it was an episode for amc to save some money... and it's not pretentious to like that episode. iirc they gave it to an outside director and he ended up making some pretty interesting choices which helped liven up the episode (of which the main complaint was that nothing happened, as you seem feel as well). diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks i guess, but it's just lame how that episode always gets shit on when it really isn't that bad.
