I think it's across the street from the Doctor's house? There's also a backdoor in the alley by the merchant.

Yep! You were right and I'm a fucking MORON for never checking those massive doors. I wish you heavenly wet dreams of Kerry Marie & London Andrews nude oil wrestling over you.

Right but we need 10 fucking FPS games for every tiny upgrade to the genre

Let's attack the games that are actually different

one of the benefits of having a fuckup dad is getting to play Leisure Suit Larry and becoming briefly elementary school famous when I bragged of losing the game by nailing a video game prostitute

Leisure Suit Larry was a cultural milestone, and fuck the naysayers. Everyone knew that game at the time.

Look, I was as blown away by the black up and down censored bar as the next guy - but this was a work of genius - like getting to the Moon on 4kb or whatever it was.

ps3 version. I managed to platinum the game with it in that state. Hardest thing I've ever done.

I've been reading about the WiiU a bunch today. Definitely want, but I can wait a year or two until there's a decent gaming catalogue and they iron out some of the inevitable launch kinks.

I'm seriously starting to think I may not finish Uncharted 3. I played for like 45 mins today and my list of grievances is staggering.

I'd like to hear them. I didn't dislike the game, I guess, but it just seemed really unsatisfying and I couldn't put my finger on what was bothering me about it.
You're going to get me in trouble here. Note that I'm pretty sure I'm not anywhere near done with the game - I'm currently in a level called "Citadel" or something, so I may have this all wrong.

1) It took literally two hours until the game really started. In those two hours, I got to shoot someone once. The rest was tutorial stuff and semi-interactive cutscenes.

2) Even after those two hours, the game tries so hard to be a movie that it forgets to be a game too often. I know I shouldn't be surprised by this because it's an Uncharted game, but 2 did this far better and the open setpiece map to railroaded glorified QTE ratio was better. So far, I there has been basically one instance where I felt like I could go where I wanted and do things my own way, and that was the big shootout outside the villa that later burns down. That's it.

3) And it doesn't even do its own thing particularly well - I've lost count of the number of times I died because I walked/ran/jumped in a direction that seemed perfectly logical but just wasn't intended because the game wanted me to do something else and didn't bother to communicate it in any way that made sense. The worst example was a chase with the camera facing backwards (SO glad they brought the worst idea of U2 back), but I've also been shot, have fallen to my death or ran around like a headless chicken looking for whatever the fuck it was the game wanted me to do next dozens of times.

4) Stealth has been cut back, and I thought I missed it because it lended some variety to the gameplay, until the first stealth sequence kicked in and I got killed because the bad guys can see through walls.

5) I'm trying to pay attention, but I have no idea what the story is about. Also, why are we suddenly not mad at Chloe anymore? Other than the fact that I can't be mad at anyone voiced by Claudia Black? I guess the dialogue's still good, but that's about it.

The big issue I have is really 2 and 3. The game is so busy being "cinematic" that it constantly takes control away from you, yet somehow often manages to communicate what it wants to railroad you into so badly that it becomes frustrating and disrupts the flow of the scenes/story. So basically, it does something I don't particularly appreciate and then isn't even very good at it.
