I worked with someone a few years ago who was very much cut from the same cloth as this guy, except that fortunately his passions tended towards pretty benign stuff like role playing games and comic books, and he was alright in small doses. But he had the exact same quality of trying way, way too hard to be charismatic and self-possessed, in a desperate attempt to conceal the sexless nerd he clearly used to be.

I do believe exposure to this sickening shitbag has driven me over the edge: I've just had the misfortune to dream about the dirty bastard. Fortunately he was brutally murdered in the last scene - tied to a tree nude and then stabbed multiple times until disembowelled by some guy resembling Fraker, the gang leader in Death Wish 3. Sadly though I didn't awake overcome with pleasure at Aurini's demise - no, I felt cheated! And why? Well, when I was about to chop his stinking head off Fraker restrained me! This thread actually had me thinking for a while that it's really something that's peculiar to American culture that makes the fedora such a fool-proof douche identifier. Then yesterday on the bus, I see this guy, looks about 22, tall, lanky, goatee, black blazer, BLACK LEATHER FEDORA, and I could barely contain my urge to snap a cellphone picture.

I ran through a crowd of fedora enthusiasts on the way to my favourite restaurant in town here last night. They were literally blocking an entire alley, and one of them yelled out "make way! people coming thru!" and his accompanying female said "olé" with a dramatic hand gesture. I was wondering if it was a wind-down party for a local steampunk convention, but was set straight by an ominous sign in front of my chosen diner: "poli-sci party."

I'm pretty sure I signed a contract with someone in 1988 that said if I ever wore a turtleneck, even accidentally, he would show up and kick me in the nuts.

You lucky bugger! In 1989, aged 15, I was given a torquoise coloured turtleneck jumper by my good old mum as a birthday present. I hadn't requested such a hideous item of clothing and when I tried it on I instantly knew it was the gayest thing ever invented. The fuken heap of shit not only covered my whole neck but it was strangling the life out of me - I couldn't breath, I was dying! In a desperate attempt to take it off the turtleneck got stuck under my chin and lacking vision I walked head first into the bedroom door. That was the final straw. Two days later I wore it to rugby practice. It didn't take long before shitty turtleneck was grabbed by a hulking Samoan animal named Fatu and torn in half. Fatu nearly decapitated me that day but it was a small price to pay to be rid of the gayness.
