i'm wearing the deranged perfumer armor. i was using the cat head, but now i have a two face magic guy head. i need the intelligence until i gain a couple more levels.

I've beated up renalla and the stormveil guy and starscourge guy. i'm working on mostly ranni's quest. i get 1 or 2 shotted a lot which is annoying. i'm not sure if i want to keep going full magic, or go back more with moonveil which i have and works good.

Ranni! Why do we all chose Ranni? Are us men romantics at heart? Ir just werdo pervs? I’m good with both.

Back from travels, with some time to spare before school/work begins. Finished off Soldier of Fortune, which I started a few weeks back.

So, I see Baldur’s Gate 3 had a patch with a thousand fixes. And I’m reading the third act is an unfinished mess. So, that’s getting put on the back burner till all that’s sorted out. Maybe a Christmas Steam sale purchase.

You know, I actually day one purchased Fallout 3, 4, and Skyrim and never encountered an issue. Do I trust them with their little big Mass Effect thing? This one’s a maybe but I still have time.

There’s that Acent game what’s his face mentioned and then there’s Atomic Heart, a euro-jank wanna be Bioshock & Fallout first person. I’m thinking the later for right now.

Jitsu Squad: kickstarted it, finally got around to playing it. It's a cool and fun beat'em up, but not as good as Shredder's Revenge. Great atmosphere, the whole game is like a great intro to a saturday morning cartoon. Unfortunately, it has a couple of bugs in it, too.

This Quake 2 Remaster really is special. Why is it so smooth and a pleasure to play? The game was always one of my boys, but despite an odd replay I wasn't really feeling a few years ago, I haven't touched it in over 15 years. I'm the odd duck that so prefers this over 1 (and 3, and 4). Again, nothing wrong with space marines vs. body horror cyborg aliens. I'm mean, the Starship Troopers is strong here, and so what.

I'm kinda bewildered by the overwhelming positive response to the Q2 remaster. Obviously Quake 2 was a decent game, but I had no idea people had so much love for it. I've barely ever heard anyone mention it in the past 20 years. Don't older games like that get rereleases all the damn time??

Quake 2 came with Quake 4 for the Xbox 360 and that’s it. I know the Steam version didn’t even have the soundtrack till now. So, Q2 didn’t get much love.

i remember dark forces owning so fucking hard but i've never tried to touch it again. it seems like the kind of game maybe left to its time unless someone did a full ground up recreation like they did with system shock recently

It didn’t have mouse look, quick saving, check points, and some levels are brutal mazes where everything looks alike. Any source ports & mods I’ve tried to use suck. Also jumping sections. Game has aged, no doubt. All the same, I want this remaster.

Hey, you play with vanilla DOOM’s soundtrack or you add a metal DOOM wad?

Which is all fucked up now. Because more than half of them converted Doom 2016 and Eternals soundtracks into real DOOM’s. Yeah, I said it. New DOOM is Disney Star Wars and fuck that stupid shit. DOOM 3 is an excellent Half-Life clone. Excellent game, but it’s not real DOOM. New DOOM’s soundtrack is loud and industrial. Like how maybe Nine Inch Nails should have continued in this direction but instead became dumb. With Teeth? No, with Quake you, slapnuts!

The one Dude from NIN made the Alice game soundtrack. I like it:

Atomic Heart kind of sucks. Annoying mini-game puzzles, very scarce ammo, awful checkpoints, and it even as first person ledge to ledge jumping (ala Uncharted or Tomb Raider). I don’t know, man.

So, I restarted Riddick: Butcher Bay. It’s short-ish, it’s excellent, and looks amazing at 4K.

I guess you should prepare by installing Doom & Doom 2 first. Be it from CD or Steam you’ll want to find doom.wad and doom2.wad.
