Democrats and Liberals don't represent leftist ideals, despite what Fox news and other media outlets want people to believe. Leftists have ZERO influence. If there was ANY power on the left, not only would the student loan forgiveness have passed, but Roe v Wade would have been codified long ago, Medicare for All would exist, and the goddamn MINIMUM WAGE would be a living wage instead of less than $8.00 an hour. Walmart employees wouldn't need to collect welfare from our taxes in order to survive, while all their profits are siphoned up to shareholders. Climate change would have been taken seriously decades ago.

Instead, we get nothing but culture war garbage from the right, as if pronouns and trans people are some kind of societal ill. Immigrants are the problem. Student loan forgiveness is buying votes and evil socialism, but PPP loans and bank bailouts NEEDED to happen. Leftists want everyone to live a life with dignity, and not feel like a medical emergency is a death sentence. Right wingers are scared that allowing that dignity to exist would cut into their RV and yacht budgets. The culture war is manufactured by right wingers to obscure the fact that they have no policies at all - other than keeping the money going to the rich. Thats why you're seeing more and more fucking loony tunes right wing politicians - they're the only ones willing to do the dirty work of stopping policies that the people desperately need.

You can't ignore or wish away the politics around you. You're not a rebel by not acknowledging politics - it concedes power to those who have it. But do keep trolling guys. It's very cool, actually, and people secretly admire you.

100% - Democrats and/or Liberals do not represent leftist ideals - they are profiting just as much, if not more than the Republicans.

Another example is that they fight against Medicare 4 All with a million culture war excuses, but the reality is that it would unbind healthcare from labor. People who lost their job wouldn't take whatever shitty job they could just to keep their healthcare. Wages would have to increase - the labor force would have more bargaining power.

Edit - I tossed off this post while animals were alerting me to dinner time: Democrats fundraise off of culture war issues. They absolutely let it happen, if not actively participate in it themselves.
