Q The Winged Serpent 8/10
I was surprised how much graphic violence was in this. Early on there’s a skinned corpse who happens to have a gigantic dick. I was literally laughing out loud at Michael Moriarty’s acting. David Carradine plays a cop, I assume he was shooting up smack the whole time as he moves in slow motion. The police commissioner has a massive Ted Kennedy head.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
First Strike ('96) - 6/10 - Not the best Jackie Chan flick, but has some pretty iconic fight scenes.
Top Gun: Maverick ('22) - 6.5/10 - Full disclosure, I did not see this in IMAX or even in a theater... But I do have a projector and decent surround sound, so it's not as if I watched this on a plane with a tiny-ass screen & headphones. Fun movie, certainly a roller-coaster blockbuster... but I could not get over the fact that Tom Cruise and Jennifer Connolly looked like they were maybe in their early 40s? When Cruise first came on screen, I thought "Oh, they de-aged him for this first section, which has to take place in like the 90's"... but no, that's just how old he is for the whole thing. When Tom was thrown out of the bar on his ass, I imagined people throwing a normal 60 year old dude to the ground and how fucked up that would be in general. I don't really remember much about the plot.
Pacific Rim ('13) - 8/10 (Re-evaluated from 5/10) - I originally watched this on a plane with a tiny-ass screen & headphones, and I thought it was pretty bad. I rewatched recently in 3D and pretty loud - it felt like a completely different movie.
Morbius - ('22) - 4/10 - This felt like DC tried to make a Marvel movie or vise-versa.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
My projector is capable of 3D - I don't think they even make 3D TV's anymore. I got a region free blu ray player with 3D capabilities as well, since the PS5 doesn't support it for whatever reason. If you go to hamiltonbook.com and search for 3D blu-rays, there's a bunch of cheap ones... although some, like Pacific Rim, have menus and cover art in Spanish. It's rare that I find newer, non-Marvel/Disney movies in 3D - but I did get Dune ('20) and Blade Runner 2049, which are both pretty incredible.Necrometer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 9:41 pm thor love & thunder 5/10 are they even trying anymore ?!?

Thor: Love & Thunder - 5/10 - I completely forgot I watched this over the weekend and just had to google who the bad guy was... The fucked up thing is that I thought Christian Bale was the best part of the movie while I was watching it. I didn't hate it.

yeah, I can't remember many other recent 3D movies that are really worth the bother, so maybe you're not missing much. fury road is the last great one I recall (incidentally, that was a conversion)Hunter wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 10:35 amMy projector is capable of 3D - I don't think they even make 3D TV's anymore.
