Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
The adaptation is pretty much spot on, other than not having everything in the movie that was in the novel. One particular incident in the book was too terrible to be in a big screen film. There was also a pretty incredible caravan of nomadic slave masters that would have looked amazing on film.

Yeah, I re-watched that maybe a year ago and I thought it held up shockingly well. Eastwood's directing style just seems to be timeless.

Hackman in that movie is one of the worst pieces of shit in film history. Richard Harris, incredible. Freeman, Clint, even the annoying Western kid trope is done to perfection in that movie. 10/10.

I liked the world it lulled me into... probably more in the first half, you're right, it did drag a little to the finish. Maybe I really want a sequel

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
i guess what i really mean is that it didnt have a story that filled its run time to the utmost and some of its sections were monotonous with what had transpired already which isnt the end of the world. without seeing it again though i thought the tail end of its final act was amazing and well earnedpostaddiction wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 7:14 pm I liked the world it lulled me into... probably more in the first half, you're right, it did drag a little to the finish. Dredd - 10/10
Pretty much the perfect action film.
I don't even care that Dredd and Anderson accidentally (in a hab block with 70,000 inhabitants...) end up in the appartment of the guy Anderson executed 5 minutes earlier.
I really want to see this in 3D.
