Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
I don't disagree with much of what you said, guess it depends on how much you're into the core idea of the film. Personally, I was blown away, despite the films many flaws (I had the impression Nolan made a mistake similar to that many beginner video game designers make: he spent so much time with the script (playtesting) that everything seemed obvious to him and totally forgot that people who watch it in the cinema have to get it in real time (haven't played for many hours)). I thought the main idea was fucking amazing and totally carried the film. Was happy to see Kip Thorne's name in the credits, too.spacehamster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:52 am Tenet's more like a 6/10 for me. It starts out great, but the big battle at the end with the soldiers running backwards was comically ridiculous, too much stuff didn't make any sense, and really, by the end it's just "we have to save the world before the timer runs out". Visually and in terms of the music, it's totally up to Nolan's usual standards, but it's really basically Inception, but not as good. I know it's his thing, but I wish Nolan would stop making these metaphysical movies designed to make bros feel smart and more stuff like Dunkirk. That's a fucking great movie.

Solo - I watched it for the first time - I didn’t hate it other than obviously Han can’t act & that seemed to be an important character who could.

logan 8/10 hadn't seen this - it was good! I couldn't find a way to watch the b&w version so I just desaturated it in my player - seemed to work well enough. recommended, I guess?

Neat idea in theory, starts ok, totally falls apart at the end.

Jesus Christ that finally came out?! I feel so bad for the people involved- it NEVER looked that fuckin good to me, but the WAR they fought to get it out... fuck man. I'm sure someone will come along and make some kind of documentary or youtube video about the production... it must have been in the can for close to four years or something!

And the fact that the stars were kids... I mean they're all VISIBLY older now than when the thing was filmed! Anya Taylor Joy looks like a different fucking person.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
Three years, apparently. I didn't really know anything about it other than it apparently wasn't very good - I try to go in blind these days, which isn't that hard to do anymore because there's so much pre-hype about these things that you can't watch it all anyway, so I just watch none of it.Eight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:40 pm Jesus Christ that finally came out?! Anyway, with hindsight, the fact that it was basically changed from a teen drama to a horror movie with reshoots and then released unfinished is kinda, well, exactly what the movie looks like. Although my main problem with it is that every character is a completely uninteresting walking stereotype, and I'd wager that was the case from the get-go.

American Murder 3/10 the more I think about this Chris Watts doc, the more bogus it is. it's successful at making you sad about some (but not all!) of the people who died... I guess?
I saw this at the dollar theater and think about it more often than it deserves, all because I lost my mind laughing at an unexpected headshot (someone running through a field?). 135 minutes and directed by richard donner (who is reportedly making another lethal weapon)
