Check out this short film if you're into stop motion animation and/ or samurai fights involving chainsaws, among else:

You can give the production team money via Kickstarter. I gave them 1500 yen!

Aliens Special Edition - 9/10

Basically, the additional scenes knock this down from a 10 to a 9 because they muck up the pacing. You can really see why Cameron decided to cut these scenes out - the theatrical cut works better.

Pretty mediocre in all respects. Hadn't seen a Michael Douglas film in 30 years, now I remember why. Danny Devito is even more annoying, I don't get at all why he became a film star.

Honestly it makes the pacing so bad it becomes 7/10

Theatrical Cut Supremacy.

The only time I saw Aliens special edition was at the IMAX spherical theater in Toronto, and it ruled. On an average tv or screen, I could imagine it feeling uneven.

Play Misty for Me ('74) - 7/10 - Mom from Arrested Development gets infatuated with Clint "Jazz DJ" Eastwood. Pretty fun thriller, but Clint hanging at a Blues/Jazz festival feels a bit weird.

Cocaine Bear ('23) - 4/10 - I guess it mostly gives you what you want from it, but still under delivers.

Ad Astra ('19) - 8/10 - Rewatched this as I didn't remember much from my first viewing in the theater. Dug it a lot more this go, as I didn't have the same expectations attached. Basically a hard sci-fi take on Heart of Darkness.

The Sting ('73) - 8.5/10 - was this responsible for the ragtime resurgence in the 70's, because I'll drop it a couple points for that... But otherwise, I'm a sucker for con men flicks, heists, etc.
