Re: Recent purchases.
Building a new PC for video editing/processing/rendering. No SATA whatsoever, just Gen4 M.2 drives. Straight lightning.
Parts acquired so far:
Thermaltake Level 20 VT (case)
Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 ARGB 850W (power supply)
Thermaltake Riing 200mm and 120mm (RGB fans)
AsRock X570M Pro4 (motherboard)
AsRock/Radeon 5500 XT Challenger D 8GB (video card)
Sabrent Rocket 1 TB (M.2 drive)
Fenvi AX200 (M.2 wifi/bluetooth chip)
Just need the ram, windows and a ryzen processor now to get it up and running, then I'll add the other M.2 drive and some more goodies.
Minus the liquid cooling and sata drives, it should come out looking about like this:

Re: Recent purchases.
Finally finished the system, with two 65" curved samsung 4k TVs. One is my main computer monitor, the other is the new living room TV, and second monitor via casting. My modem also has a detectable usb port for streaming from a flash drive or larger external, so a 10 TB external will be the main library drive for movie and music collections, comics etc. (currently just using the computer and a few thumb drives)

Re: Recent purchases.
I've also acquired a half stack recently, finally, a Line 6 Spider V MkII (cab only). Bang for the buck was basically unbeatable, even against used stuff. It's very clean and unflavored by speaker type, since it's made for sims and the Spider head. Comes with Celestion 70 80's (rebranded to Line 6), so has a nice max rating of 320. I'm running it in stereo mode with 2 Hotone nano heads.
Other stuff has mostly just been craigslist deals (Fuzz Factory, Smash Box, second time owning both), and more chinese pedals from ebay/amazon. And a Fuzzrocious Croak, aaaand the Meris Ottobit Jr, bestest breakcore box evar.
Donner tele for $60, it's my favorite beater now and is getting all stickered up.
Finally traded my first guitar, a Jackson RR3. Realized what I already knew, that it was a very nooby choice for a first guitar (this is also illustrated in Metal Lords)...and I'm sick of fucking with floyds. I got a sweet bass for it, a black LTD Stream 204.
I still love metal and still need at least one pointy guitar though, so...
I had an old Ibanez semihollow that I got in a weird moving sale/trade deal a long time ago. It was never my style, and I held on to it for a good 8 years just waiting for the right trade opportunity, which finally came. A local christian metal dude (Mark from the band Prodigal) posted up a basically brand new Dean ML79 Standard FSOT, and was looking for a nice semi hollow...perfect deal for both of us. It still had the plastic on the pickups. I used to hate the humungous headstocks on Dean guitars but I guess I'm over it.

Re: Recent purchases.
Have you ever tried the TC Rusty Fuzz? It's a pretty disgusting fuzz and they are still dirt cheap. I'd grab one before some rock star asshole says he loves it and the price jumps to $300.Warpsmasher wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 7:46 am I've also acquired a half stack recently, finally, a Line 6 Spider V MkII (cab only). Re: Recent purchases.
OK, Rusty is added to the list and I'll keep an eye out. That whole recent line from TC looks like good stuff actually, I would probably try any one of them.
