Latest Gene Wolfe book you read (1-10 scale)

It’s not in any of his short story collections but a few years ago I found online somewhere the original “The Crate” that got turned into one of the shorts in Creepshow. It was by far one of those most fucked up things he ever wrote. You really felt like this thing could not exist in our universe and King was able to channel the feeling of the victims losing their mind directly into your brain while reading the story.

one slightly funny part was in the story the only part of the wife that isn’t eaten by the creature is her face while in the movie that’s the first thing it eats

The Thousandfold Thought (The Prince of Nothing Book 3) - R Scott Bakker. 9/10

This whole series was great. Bakker is a damn fine writer. Of all the fantasy I have read, I have never been sucked into a world like I have in this series. Definitely going for the next series.

On book one of this right now and totally in love with it.
