The reviews of Robocop: Rogue City make it seem like it's not a disaster. I'd buy that for... $40 dollars?

Finished Trenpang2. Eh, means well, but it’s just missing something and something is off.
Started Turbo Overkill. Is this a “boomer shooter” outside the somewhat retro graphics? It’s pretty badass is what it is. Unfortunately, I choose Halloween to start it and the people decided it would be cute to stick jack o’ lanterns on all the enemies heads and this is stupid. Now I have to wait till this thing is over. Annoyed!

I just bought a game off Steam. It’s a first person shooter named Carnal. I don’t know shit about it other than the guy that made Dusk liked it and it cost me a whopping .49 cents.

There’s a gamed called Doomed, so I guess they can just past tense the titles for the next go around. Bloodied, Quaked, Halved-Life…. Or just throw a 90’s wannabe gangsta ‘Z’ after every thing. Call of Dutyz, FEARz, Far Cryz.Eight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 9:10 am They're gonna run out of negative words to name FPSes

I did it. Fuck it, my birthday is 9 days away. I know I promised myself I wouldn't buy any (or not many) new games. Especially, the ones that will give my PC a mild stroke. But it's Robocop. And it's by the dudes that did that Terminator game that had no business being as good, or as hetero as it was.Hunter wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 10:39 am The reviews of Robocop: Rogue City make it seem like it's not a disaster. Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Back in 2011 and so, when I was allowed to stay up real late on Friday nights, I think I had moments like that with Skyrim.
I thought I’d be playing Robocop, but I’m dealing with Witcher 3 & Turbo Overkill, and neither are wrapping up anytime soon. Regardless, Robocop just got patched. Once again proving there is no reason to buy a game soon after launch anymore, since even good games are released unfinished, one way or another.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Beat the first chapter of Turbo Overkill. It’s good. It’s very good. Only complaint is too much first person platforming, but to the games defense, you do have double jumping and all sorts of air control to help. Also, the final boss of the chapter can get bent. Yeah, good stuff, but I need a break. Balls to the walls action drains me in my old age.
I’ve also been sucked back into the riptide that is Witcher 3. I think it best I finish it off.

I hear you pretty much need to replay this bad boy. Like some patch majorly changed it. I was actually playing this (pre-patch) this time last year. I took it to almost New Year’s then once beaten I played Elden Ring.ghost boner wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 4:29 pm I beat the cyberpunk dlc. Fucking beautiful. Better ending than the original to me. Elden Ring is my GOTY. As to be.

It recommends you start over for thr dlc because so much has changed but it doesn't take long to run into it. Totally worth it though

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Those motherfuckers updated Half-Life 1, added some multiplayer bullshit and breaking all the mod support. I have a plethora of these things I want to get to, and they fuck it up. So, I had to activate the pre-anniversary beta, and now they work, but the thing is Half-Life scale’s horrible to 4K and now I have to re-manual go into the guts and increase a ton of font sizes manually. Sonovabitch!!!

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
No, it’s very good BUT maybe don’t play it after something so advanced like Cyberpunk. Hell, I’m playing the Witcher 3 pretty much exclusively and I know the game after needs to be really different. Future type first person shooter into another future type first person shooter isn’t going to end well for the second game 85% of the time. Just from genre fatigue, alone.ghost boner wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 4:14 pm Does this robocop game suck or did cyberpunk shatter my ability to enjoy anything less than perfect games? I had wine, sure. But I also had some liquid THC and it looks like I went and deleted the Witcher 3 and all the mods ai installed. Eh, probably for the best.
I ‘be bought a whole bunch of stuff during the Autumn Steam sale that was on my wishlist. They mostly all sucked, so I got a refund and bought some other stuff that sucks. I refunded that, and I think no bought Street Fighter 6. Last SF game I played was like Capcom vs Marvel 2, or Street Fighter Alpha 2. A very long time ago.

And I refunded SF6.
I’ll probably save the refunded credit for the Christmas sale, hopefully Baldur’s Gate is finally on sale then.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
I didn’t know this:
I see some modders have taken to make the lazy ass Metal Gear Collection actually be somewhat “remastered”.
https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsoli ... ll+time%29
I’ve been replaying Rise of the Tomb Raider. I don’t really know why. Nor do I know why it looks so much better and can run at 4K with 60fps suddenly.
