Played almost two levels of Far Cry Classic (360). Last time I played it was on the PC and I edited the hell out of the files to get max graphical goodness. So, if any one gives a rat's ass here my thoughts.

1 ) Instead of a machete, it uses a quick hit function which, quite frankly, is better.
2 ) I guess getting rid of some pixelation counts as "new cut-scenes"
3 ) 360 doesn't have the filter options the PC did, so no VIBRANT graphics filter. That's a bummer, it truly looked like island paradise that way.
4 ) Sometimes I think the PC has better textures, then I start thinking the 360 does. I don't know, the game doesn't have detailed up-close textures either version.
5 ) Guns are remodeled for the better, yet still look like they belong in the game.
6 ) Game now has aiming/iron sights,plus a better enemy tagging system. I count this as an improvement and not merely pandering to the COD crowd. Really useful in the jungle when the enemy sees you through trees. It's slightly less unfair.
7 ) I think lighting and shaders are better on the 360 version.
8 ) I think some shadows are missing on the 360 version. I remember a big palm tree shadow on the roof of a hut right at the beginning, that isn't there anymore.
9 ) Pop-in isn't anywhere near as good as a tweaked PC version.
10) Doesn't use the bloom or HDR options that was added to the PC version via a patch. Those things broke part of the PC version, would have been nice to see if realized on the 360.
11) Native wide screen is nice, and actually help full when the bastards try to flank me.
12) Water looks better on the 360.
13) Under water looks better on PC. Looks a lot better. 360 is murky and the seaweed seems transparent.
14) Still no quick saves.

In the end, it's seems to be the exact same game out side of the quick hit and aim changes. I still love me those early 2K FPS so I had a ball with it.

I read her print review and her verdict was that both new consoles are "dinosaurs" because smartphone games are cheaper and, get this, you can take them anywhere.

I think she forgot the part where GTA V made a billion dollars in a week or the biggest games in the world are unplayable on a phone or tablet. Horrible.

Picked up a Dualshock 4 and am enjoying it a lot but I need to get used to the joysticks. The R2 L2 triggers are so much better than the old DS3.

definitely looking forward to that. hope it's not gimped by last-gen concerns, but i think that goes without saying for every cross-gen game at this point.

also, i can't believe it... not only is the south park game not vaporware, but it actually looks cool based on the new (first ever?!) gameplay footage. i'm not even a huge fan of the show, but i might have to get it

All those guys are really good friends with creator, and they're constantly shilling that game. Doesn't mean it's bad, but I've really only heard the Giantbomb guys talk about it.

speaking of GB, does Patrick just annoy the fuck out of anyone else? I'm pretty new to GB and game podcasts in general, so maybe he's normally better, but from what I've heard the dude sucks the fun out of games and always tries to sound like he's writing a thesis when other people are having casual conversations. plus his stupid mic and hair.....
