Every now and then I think "I want to listen to Autopsy" and 75% of the time I meant Abscess

that new autopsy is pretty cool, it'd be a lot cooler if it was recorded 20 years ago but yeah abscess

You can make cool new names like tomb mold but the sound was defined perfectly long ago
And all those cool names feel like empty promises sometimes because of it

Re: Any good new death metal out there?
Big Epic Celtic-Frost meets Slayer riffs, reverb & echo drenched whisper-growled vocals right out of a sewer, and slower to midpaced tempos on longer songs,.
The nods to bands like Winter and Autopsy from Ossuary seem obvious. Honestly, I’m having trouble conveying exactly how GRIMY this material comes across, despite the Incantation-meets-Obituary riffing. In many ways this feels like Cianide being played by Timeghoul. It feels like you could have bought this cassette from a mail-order distro in the late 90’s.

Despite no new DENIAL material, which I feel I have been promised each year for the last decade, this has been a good year for Lovecraft themed death metal español between Castleumbra and this:

I love how greasy this is. Total cave man shit but still somehow atmospheric. I like this sound board recording better than their releases.

Yeah I get that. But I'm all about Sijjin and Drowned, Necros Christos on the other hand, not so much.
