if he wasn't doing anything illegal then he shouldn't have to worry about whoever his lawyer is. not only that, but most lawyers would jump at the chance to represent an obvious open and shut case where his civil rights were violated by the city. because if it's so cut and dry then he should easily get a multimillion dollar settlement out of this, and any lawyer would love to get his percentage out of that.

and anyway, someone close to him has money. not just anyone can come up with and drop $15,000 within a day for bond.
