Really? I vaguely remember buying it, listening to it once and never listening to them again. I'll have to download it and give it another shot.
It sounds like Soilent Green if they covered Pantera songs. I'm pretty sure most of that album was recorded on a herion binge with Seth Putnam

I can't find the other one from this set with Phil, Seth and It's either Tim Morse Or Scott Hull all giving the Thor's Hammer sign.

probably glam fags and female fans of the band when they were just a local act.
Their old stuff is hardly glam metal...it was melodic heavy metal (very Judas Priest like at times). Just because it was the mid-80s and they looked like a stereotypical metal band, everyone thinks they were glam. Have you even heard that stuff?

I have, not my bag. then again, being from the punk end of the spectrum, I don't care for much traditional metal outside of some NWOBHM and Black Sabbath.

I fully enjoy Reinventing the Steel...though I think it's just because I bought it on TAPE on sale at Tower because all my 1995 car had at the time and it was one of the few tapes available there.

I think you're mostly right about the junk and Seth, but I WISH it sounded like SG covering Pantera; that might be cool

Stock answer to topic: Dime was a great player, I dug "VDoP" back then, but this band hasn't aged well at all IMO. Shitty production/tones,. too
Soilent Green to me sounds like a mixture of Eyehategod and Brutal Truth. which is fine by me. I can see the comparison to GSTK era Pantera, though.

yeah, I'll give them that much. I don't give 2 shits about Pantera these days, early, late, whatever... but as a young fella, I had a very similar experience with that album.

I liked Cowboys from Hell for about five minutes when it came out.

I'm just a touch too old for these guys, they came along playing music I liked a few years prior but I'd moved on in taste by the time they did their "classic" albums.

I just can't seperate Anselmo from douche-ness and like the band - Same with anything he's done. Down, Superjoint etc etc.

Haven't thought about this band in a long time. Might be a Pantera night tonight. :blackmeadow:

It's not about me being too "big league" to allow myself to like it

I remember heaps of people telling me how they were the heaviest thing ever and I just didn't like it.

Dimebag love is understandable, if over-rated, but for me they're like the 90's version of Opeth - I hear the ability, the good production and song writing and yet I feel nothing.

system destroyed
exposed unemployed
the fruit of intention
cry for the dead
yet turning your head
to ignore realities claw
knife to your wrist
syringe in your arm
is your ounce of prevention
give what you made
and the ode to the name on your grave
is salvation
