Was already probably pointed out a long time ago.

I’ve been listening to Massacre’s “Dawn Of Eternity” over and over again and it sounds exactly like some other old death metal song. I know the melody is also reminiscent of Helloween’s “Halloween” but it sounds like something else I feel is really obvious that I’m missing and it’s pissing me off.

The main riff in Parameacium’s “I Am Not Alive” sounds a bit like Death’s “Symbolic” opening riff.

There’s some 60’s or 70’s rock song that has a faster version of the riff from Fear Of God’s “ Absolution” that I can’t remember the name of the band or the song and it drives me up the fucking wall.

That new Obituary song “dying of everything” sounded very familiar. At first I thought it was Jesus Lizard’s Boilermaker but then realized it’s Deftones Hexagram.

Not the same riff but I can’t help assuming the break in “Meathook Sodomy” at around 3:22 with the snare fill and the short riff repeated over and over was influenced by Diamond Heads “Helpless” (2:45 mark ) but probably more likely influenced by the Metallica cover.
