someone made a Prometheus cut that seems really close to what I'd consider perfect. there was another edit I really liked, but it had unfinished vfx. this latest thing - "chaos edition" - has a bunch of vfx corrections as well as all the restored scenes I care about. it does not seem to fix the "guys getting lost for no reason" thing, but I'm ok with that.

some recent reddit people say this link will work, i just get stupid "are you a robot" screens and then I give up

edit: I got nuts and opened that link in the "Edge" browser and it redirected me to a page to download a plugin for koala backgrounds!!!

I could eventually get the movie to stream in the player (quality is good), and there's a "three dots" menu/button in the player that has a download option... but I couldn't get the download to work. that was in edge...

OK, trying aggressively in chrome, the "three dots" button will me attempt a download... but it doesn't even list a file type (seems like a big red flag) - so I'm chickening out

you can probably just stream it - it's wild in that it doesn't even let you skip around

EDIT: your post reminded me to actually download the prometheus edit - it worked fine (via google drive) and it looks perfect at first glance!

I watched the "chaos edition" of Prometheus and it's basically perfect

but I realized something while looking for stuff I'd tweak: it would be so easy to "fix" the insane typos that made it into the script simply by briefly muting the audio:
CO2 becomes CO
thirty six hours becomes six hours

those things don't actually bother me, but they're still kind of embarrassing & would be worth scrubbing

just going on record to say Katherine Waterston is insanely attractive...she made inherent vice interesting and this short hair look is all the way good

Romulus looks like shit. There was one kind of interesting part of the trailer where there was zero gravity and someone was floating towards a cloud of alien blood with no way to stop themselves from colliding with the acid which is a pretty terrifying concept.

I'd go to the theatre just to yell "bollocks me got a chest burstah!! Crickey!! Bloody hell guv'na" and get kicked out.

romulus might be sort of unnecessary or whatever. too derivative. but man it doesnt look bad at all. ive only watched 20 ish seconds of each trailer but its mighty handsome looiking
