I'll never get over the Looney Tunes scene where the spaceship from the first Alien movie is rolling towards Charlize Theron and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo like a giant boulder about to crush Wile E. Coyote, and they run away from it in a straight line. I know there were a dozen other things wrong with that movie, but that's the one I remember, and I think I'm quite content with remembering it as the movie where that happens and nothing else.

I just rewatched it thanks to this thread and I was liking it more than I remembered despite old man Wayland’s shitty makeup and then that scene happened. In space, no one can run diagonal! It’s so bad it drops the score down to a 7. Also, tough girl Theron pushing around an android… 6.5.

haha yeah

i read some more about the movie on internet, and the directory is trying to say the engineers are mad at earth because jesus??
you can't just add to the lore in an interview. sorry for rehashing stuff you guys talking about 10 years ago.

anyways is the idea that the engineers made xenomorphs and then got fucked up by them ?

No!!!

Theyre the creative ambition of a singular rampant and evil artificial intelligence using the bio pathogenic weapon created by the engineers!! And the morphology we see in the original films is based on human host DNA!!!

Goddddd

I think the idea is that someone does something, and then some stuff happens, and then more stuff happens, and someone does something, and then it's like woah, dude.

You'll need at least a minor in Beherit Studies to even grasp the basics

See, I suspected they might have created the Xenomorphs because they couldn't figure out how to tune their guitars, but I dropped out of Oath of Black Blood 101 two weeks before the exam and I wanted to be careful.

Finally almost an hour into Covenant. (First time watch) Okay, I get Scott’s ego trying to prove Alien was more than Friday the 13th in space, but stop already. Aliens rescued that shit from obscenity. Double down on bad ass colonial marines vs evolution xenonmorphs, instead of proto-kung fu morphs. Fucking R rated Power Rangers bad cgi over here.

if anyone actually wants CHAOS EDITION of Prometheus or Covenant, PM me and I will send you the link(s). I put 'em on google drive but can't host these forever. each is 18 GB so proceed with caution.

romulus reviews are out, and there are some big ol' spoilers in critics' blurbs. warning my fellow numbmen, who strive to preserve any little thrill, in hopes of feeling something... anything

to satisfy your curiosity: whatever you thought this movie would be... you were right. it's good enough for the non-whees among us and it's also too reflexive & referential

It's another one of those "loveletter to the fandom" type things, isn't it? Fuck that, blow it all up. (not really, I don't care)
