sleeping on your back is something i've wanted to train myself to do but i always end up staring at the ceiling all night

I made a poll - i'd happy to update it with more options

anyway I sleep on my side 100% - i haven't gotten the psa recommending otherwise. i can side-sleep on concrete with no pillow no problem. almost certainly doomed to ceiling-staring if i try back-sleeping, even in a nice bed

Even though it may not be our go-to napping position, it has numerous health benefits. The most significant one is better alignment of the spine, which reduces pain. Other positives include minimizing acid reflux, preventing wrinkles, and maintaining perky breasts.

upside down from ceiling

I sleep in the fetal position because I’m a beta pussy. It’s starting to fuck up my shoulders.

Can’t sleep on my back at all.

Also I cut my ear with scissors trying to trim my sideburns

For some reason I can do daytime naps on my back, but at night I alternate between on my stomach and on my right side, and I absolutely can't fall asleep on my back. I also snore enough as it is lying on my side, so I probably shouldn't sleep on my back anyway.

Yeah I was gonna say, I snore loudly when I'm sleeping on my back (not for long though, the wife will wake me up and insist I change position when I do), but not at all when I sleep on my side. So I sleep on my side...

I sleep in whatever position allows me to anger my wife most. Sometimes it's snoring on my back. Sometimes it's on my side so my farts land right in her breathing space. Sometimes it's on my stomach and I'm just fuckin yelling in my sleep as though I'm being dropped feet-first into a vat of acid. It's called being an alpha, look it up, nerds.

For a while in ninth grade, after shool I would sleep on my back with my arms folded like a dracula. I told all my friends because I legitimately thought I was becoming dark and interesting.

In my second year of college, I was working in a grocery store and injured my spine really badly. I don't think I've gone an entire week of sleeping through the night since then. BUT WHEN I DO it's on my side in the foetal position, with one pillow inbetween my knees and another under my arm to keep my shoulders/neck straight.

Shit, sorry to hear that, James.

I've had trouble sleeping through for the last 25 years. Weed helps a bit, but I can't get high every evening because it makes me paranoid when I'm too stressed. Not alpha enough I guess...

I change it up - seems to vary every night what works to get me to fall asleep. Usually the first aid recovery position on either side - can't do full fetal position - I hate having the knees against each other. Sometimes on my back in the Dracula position. Sometimes flat on my stomach like some toddler. Sometimes one, sometimes two pillows.

It's funny, btw, but I actually sleep better these days. I used to have an extremely hard time falling asleep , sometimes lying awake for hours, and now I usually really just go to bed and I'm out within 30 minutes at the most. It's pretty awesome.

Went to the dentist for the first time in about 10 years as I now have dental insurance. I had been having a dull tooth ache for several months that got worse in the last week. I was worried I would need a root canal as I have one tooth that has been drilled out 3 times. Turns out I’m nuts or something as there is nothing wrong with my mouth. No cavities or anything. Not even in the cracked tooth that is mostly made of bondo at this point. They think the pain is probably from teeth grinding and I need a mouth guard. (The one thing they found problematic was moderate wear from grinding).

My shoulder is still mildly fucked up from sleeping bad like two months ago now.

I can't believe you're actually going to let them stifle your grinding

re: sleep injuries, I woke up today and my elbow was in STUPID levels of pain. I took some naproxen and went back to sleep for another 30 min and it was fine. i was pretty angry considering that's the same arm where my shoulder and wrist have been hurting for like 3 & 6 months, respectively. useless garbage body...

golf clap

The best part of the day was getting a ride home from my brother in laws father and him telling a horrifying story about a woman he knows who had a root canal that gave her instantaneous trigeminal neuralgia.

I think the dentist gave my kid a MRSA in the face. They were poking around his mouth and a couple days later we had to go to hospital to get IV antibiotics for 3 days. Then we went back to the dentist and they were like actually there's nothing wrong with the tooth.

I keep writing complaints into Kaiser's suggestion form and it triggers this thing where they leave me a bunch of voicemails and then I get a manilla envelope in the mail with like 100 pages of legal jargon.
