anecdotal but i know of at least 2 people who were deep in opiate addiction, in and out of rehabs, and they managed to trade that out for addictions to kratom. which seemed positive at first but actually turns out to be kinda hellish and retarded in its own right? for now less deadly?

I saw King on the Abigail 20th anniversary tour in 2015 with Exodus and it was fucking awesome. I'm okay if that's the last time I see KD. Maybe if Fate tours again I'd like to see them. Missed them a couple years ago.

A coworker of mine has a family friend who owns one of the private suites in the arena in Portland. He actually got me in for free when Maiden played there in 2019. He grew up in small towns so he had really only just heard of them. He was a good sport and sat there with me the full almost 3 hour set. It wasn’t until they did Run To The Hills as the finale when he turned to me and yelled “hey! I know this one!”. He lives in Tennessee now but I might be able to have him ask his friend to let me go to the one coming up.

That 2019 tour was great. This new tour is kind of weird because it's heavily dedicated to Somewhere in Time (awesome) and Senjutsu (meh) but I'll take it. They already announced a new world tour starting in 2025 which only plays stuff from the debut through Fear of the Dark so that'll be a good one to see.

I must have jinxed myself because last night for my birthday my wife surprised me with 2 tickets to Maiden in Worcester so I'm going with my buddy.

Yeah I shouldn't be surprised that Maiden at a 14,000 seat venue in Worcester is a sellout because they haven't done a New England show in 5 years, and that last one was at Great Woods, a 19,000 seat amphitheater that was basically sold out.
