For pure entertainment value it's gotta be the best for the reasons you mentioned. And it looks fucking great. For story/"lore" purposes it's a little weak but who gives a fuck. "Oh, they killed Boba Fett too quickly!" Who cares? Nobody gave a fuck about that dude until E.T. "Oh, Han isn't as carefree and badass as he was in the first two," yeah, maybe almost dying changed him a bit? "The Ewoks are lame and pander to kids." The whole fucking thing panders to kids. The older I've gotten, and the more I've seen the fandom eat itself alive over the dumbest shit imaginable, the more I've become a ROTJ supporter. Empire is obviously a great movie too but ROTJ is the best at what that original trilogy was all about.
