Ya know what, the 13 doesn't suck but again it's not Black Sabbath... fucking jews. I wouldn't mind that as an Ozzy album cover.
I just want to hear these guys work again. That's all I need. I'm happy it's happening

Not that I'm all that emotionally invested but this was my biggest worry. I was hoping it wouldn't be a crispy clean production that sounds like a slightly heavier Ozzy album. Oh well.....andy vomit wrote:sounds like ozzy's later solo work.

What a disaster. I wonder if Zack squeals like his guitar in his sleep when he is having nightmares about the bogeyman

Zakk had a good 10 year run. I don't think he got intolerable until the Ozzfest era really kicked in. Before that, he wrote a lot of great songs.

What I am telling you is Zack squealing his way through Children of the Grave along side with Jason Newsted is probably a low point in Ozzy's career.

Re: black sabbath
I can't argue with you there, but there are so many absolutely beautiful low points in Ozzy's career... I love that fucking psychopath so much. That video does absolutely nothing to upset me at all. You could pull live footage from any point from 1972 to the present and find something similar. Ozzy's my nigga and I'm down for the ride. Miracle man!!

I don't know if Ozzy's voice, the band's inability to play together, or those pinch squealios are giving me worse embarrassment shivers

Re: black sabbath
I disagree. Randy had two albums with Ozzy and so did Jake E Lee - both men produced a bunch of songs waay more memorable than the 5 albums Zakk had with Ozzy. No More Tears is a great riff, but then there's that whole messy tacked on anthemic, keyboard driven part at the end of the song that just stretched it out beyond.james wrote:Zakk had a good 10 year run. I won't really hold that against Zakk as being particularly damning - I'm sure with the way Sharon does business along with the fact that most of the early songwriting was done with Bob Daisley and the experience they had with Jake E Lee that by the time Zakk came along - I wouldn't be surprised if was hamstrung musically or limited in what he could do.
When I try to think about Wylde's tenure - I pretty much can only think of the No More Tears riff and pick squeals every 10 bars or so.
Awesome lead guitarist but not someone's who's songs resonate much for me.

This, and his pinch harmonics are legendary jokes in the metal realm. He must not listen to his own playing because he would make fun of himself too.doomeddisciple wrote:

Re: black sabbath
When Sabbath would bust out "Children of the Grave" in 2004 and 2005 they sounded fine. Ozzy was pilled out and drunk off his ass in that video, it's pretty clear. Zakk's squeals certainly don't help, but Randy squealed all over that song on the Tribute album too.
