I'm disturbed by the fact that the presenter of this information is UK Fantano.

My almost 20 year old mower is pretty much ready to be retired. I’m sure I could take it somewhere to get it tuned up but I’m ready to be done with gas, fumes, and noise. I’ve already switched some of my other yard equipment to battery. I have EGO for my blower, line trimmer and hedge trimmer. I’m at the bar down the road from Lowe’s trying to convince myself into buying the $900 version of the EGO mower. I’ve read hundreds of reviews and watched a bunch of YouTube videos about it and I’m pretty convinced. I have a couple $100 Lowe’s gift cards from a couple Christmas’s that have been sitting in a drawer for a few years, so might as well just do it!

I bought an EGO a few months ago when my gas mower was falling apart. Seems to work pretty good so far.

I've done battery for the pat 9 years. (GreenWorks) It's not self-propelled, but super light which helps going around trees and signs. Over the years I bought 2 batteries since one doesn't have enough charge to do the entire grass. (About an hour of mowing time, dependent on grass length.) Only downside is it seems to leave periodic mow-hawks on the grass. (Not sure if it's because a gas lawnmower causes more of a suction on the grass.)

But overall I've been happy.

+1 Electric mower = good

I've been using an EGO mower for the past 5 years and it's been working well. Extra/replacement batteries are pricey, so that may be a consideration. My original battery is still working well but, as you might expect, doesn't last as long now.

I think that was historically referred to as the Caligula games also known as the ding dong skillz Olympics.

I ended up getting it. I mowed on Saturday so I haven’t taken it out of the box to play with it yet. I was considering getting a second 10ah battery, but from all the reviews I saw, I should be able to do my whole yard on one charge. If not, I have two 4ah that came with my blower and trimmer and one 2.5 that came with the hedge trimmer. Except for the steep hill from my backyard up to the front yard, the rest is flat, so I won’t need to drain the battery with the self-propel. Was good timing as I had just emptied the last of my gas can into the mower before it started to crap out. No more gas and no more ear plugs!

My battery is only 6 ah and I can get 2 or 3 full mows but my yard is fairly small. Plus I've only had it a few months so probably takes at least a year for the battery to shit the bed.

You’re set then…batteries are expensive, 3 is plenty.

It is by far the most powerful tool I own, and it’s kind of scary how quiet it is.

Also, the plastic deck leaves me a little worried about hidden rocks, but I haven’t found any complaints.

One of the really detailed reviews I saw with positive/negative/wish list details had on the negative list that plastic sounds weird. Honestly, if that’s one of the biggest issues, I’m probably just fine. I did recently have to get a 50 year old willow tree taken down and removed from my backyard and there ended up being a surprising amount of rocks that were left behind. I’m gonna be lazy and pay a landscaping company to come in and clean everything out and redo the grass and sprinklers in that area. Otherwise, if I try to do it myself, it won’t be done before winter.
