I don't give a shit how much weed she was smoking that's not what she was arrested for. What proof or evidence is there she was putting her child in any danger?? Because she might smoke weed recreationally? It's only "a stupid risk" because of the stupid fucked up laws. That's pretty spurious logic. How much do you drink? Does it matter? You have a kid on the way and may continue to consume large amounts of alcohol or you may curtail it. Either way it's completely irrelevant unless it's directly endangering your child's welfare. Child welfare services have every right to take away the kids of drunk/addict parents if it leads to abuse but as I stated, this case here can be comparable to kids being removed from a household for literally he having one or two drinks of non alcoholic beer. The case didn't even fit the legal state criteria of child endangerment as they found no evidence of such. The judge only ruled the way he did because the tea had cannabis plant material in it. It would literally be like accusing some one of child abuse for eating a piece of hemp rope. If you think anything at all to do with this case is logical just or fair and sticking her kid in a foster home is justifiable because of her "stupid mistake" then you're fucked up

lots of conflicting evidence about marijuana and pregnancy but in my maternity rotation if they found THC in mom's blood or baby's stool it was no big deal medically or legally. the nurses seemed to feel that for moms who were using it for intractable nausea then the benefit massively outweighed any risks but still they said eat it don't smoke it. I was surprised.
