As some of you may know, today marks the 5th anniversary of the death of iconic Grunge vocalist Chris Cornell.

The night of May 17th, he rejoined with Soundgarden to perform live at Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan.

After the show, Cornell returned to his hotel, where the last people to speak to him was Chris's wife Vicky over a phonecall, and his bodyguard.

Both had reported that Chris had been acting strangely that night, so after rising concerns and the fact that Chris had become unresponsive, his bodyguard had requested from the hotel staff to open Chris's room for him.

The hotel staff had refused, however, as it wasn't his room, so with no other choice, the bodyguard broke down the door to Chris's room.

It was in there, locked in the bathroom, Chris had hanged himself using the shower curtain rod and an elastic sports band. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

And on that fateful night, the world lost and incredible and powerful voice, and an inexplicably broken, yet beautiful soul.
