That’s genuinely awesome and I would never want to diminish his experience, just in general I find that kind of rhetorical argument used by bad faith actors to deflect any legitimate criticism of the United States. It’s the equivalent of when people used to say in the 80’s “you don’t like it, go to Russia.” and today would say “no one is oppressed in the USA because we all have iPhones in our pockets.” ( I’m not accusing you of being a bad faith actor in this particular case.)
