Honestly, it looks too cluttered and compacted.

i tried it and wasnt feeling it for that same reason either. didn't get far but it might be because im old and false now. should try again

i think if you have to rely on constantly restricting movement and player freedom in your maps your kind of a doom wad equivalent of a railroading dungeon master. pretty and intricately detailed levels arent always that fun to play

i want to be able to move through lanes and zones freely and checkmate myself

No matter what i try, gzdoom is unplayable with a controller. The og doom ports from the 90s are okay, but the mouselook shit just can't be conquered. Sucks because a lot of these mods run pretty well on the Switch.

I get like 45 minutes at the end of the day to run down to the basement. Somehow that narrow window of opportunity encourages further obsession, and makes me enjoy stuff more.

Yeah, I tried a controller with GZDOOM a few years ago. Terrible. You just can’t force controller support into FPS that never had it implemented by the developers in the first place. So, basically, any FPSer on PC pre-Xbox 360, use mouse/keyboard.

I have almost every doom on my xbox. From the 360 releases of 1 & 2 to thr recent re-releases with add on support and ive played through them all multiple times with a controller and they feel amazing and natural

I wasn’t talking about console ports. I’m talking about old PC games, even when using Doomsday & GZDoom and so forth. The original floppy disk versions to CD release. The DOOMs on Steam NOW have been tweaked by Bethesda and runs fine with a controller.

The hardest setting where they just respawn? That’s bullshit and always hated that, even at my peak DOOM skills. Respawning enemies outside of Metrovania/Zelda type waiz is bullshit.
