The responsible thing to do is to make sure you're clearly a guy with a backing band: Neil Young/Crazy Horse, Tom Petty/Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello/Attractions, etc. If you're using a stage name there might be some wiggle room but I'm less forgiving if it's the whole-ass stage name (e.g., the band is Dio and not Ronnie James Dio)

yeah there are almost no bands where the name of the band is just the first/last on your birth certificate. this sets kerry king apart from Dio, Danzig, King Diamond, etc
