to be fair the singer sounds good. I am not a Death Angel fan because I heard Frolic In The Park back pre-internet and never had any interest to check anything else out, but the impression I get is that I am not missing out on anything crucial.

King Diamond is the firmest example I can think of - even Danzig is a bit hazy IMO

my litmus test has been: is there a single logo that's used consistently? King Diamond & Danzig are both a firm YES on this. solo artists will stylize their name, sure, but they tend to change it up depending on context. I suspect the KK logo (or logomark?) is probably here to stay. the jury might be out until his second or third record (god helps us all)

wikipedia has a dedicated page for KD the band, but no such page for KK (yet?). metal archives knows what's up, of course - to them, KK is a band.

another key aspect: when you see first name & last name... that's almost never a band. that's a performing artist. I think this is the rubicon KK must cross...

As I type this Metal-Archives does not have a Kerry King band page, am I reading you wrong because I swear you are saying this is a band? Kerry King said it would be a band in older interviews, but the budget logo and art design scream solo act to me...

He might make it a band, but I still say NOT YET.

A kid named Casey was an absolute fucking menace in the neighborhood I grew up in. It was a slightly rough place to grow up in, only in the sense that kids would actually hit each other at a certain point in an argument - not really like the suburbs I moved to later. Once a summer someone would go get stitches on their head from a rock-bash, that type of place.

Casey once threw me through a glass door because I told him that the power rangers episode he watched was a rerun, and the green ranger was already a good guy. Fucking craziest thing that happened to me at that point in life. One moment here, the next moment inside someone's house. Kid ran away and i dont even think the owner tried to talk to his parents.

I always thought he was so angry and violent because he had a girl name, but looking back there may have been more going on.

It did teach me not to be a little wikipedia bitch tho, and I'm thankful for that.
