I didn't listen to Negative Approach when I was young. I didn't dislike them, jsut not on the radar somehow. Maybe I should blame you guys.
But last month they are all I listened too. How does that happen? It's rare.


also this like pro video and sound video is really something. It sounds better than the releases.

I didn't used to listen to old country music but now I do. I have always loved bluegrass but I am okay with country music, even some contemporary artists.

I've always liked Negative Approach because I stumbled into them as a teen when I was more into HC and someone said in a magazine I read that they were important. I think it might have been in an interview with Pittbull, and they mostly brought up NA to shit on NYHC. The first time I realized they had resurfaced was when they played Obscene Extreme, and yeah... they were flat-out amazing in a way that really doesn't seem possible for a bunch of aging punks who you assume don't practice. They sounds like all they do is practice.

Anyway, my answer is Megadeth. I basically decided at the age of about 16 and after listening to Rust in Peace a few times and not getting it that I hated Megadeth (this also had a lot to do with the fact that I was a fan of Metallica at the time, which is the most embarrassing thing you'll ever see me admit on this board) and that was that. Fast forward to... probably about 2020, a friend of mine has that album playing at home and I suddenly realize that it's basically everything I like now. I still don't like Mustaine's voice, I think the albums before it are good but seriously hampered by the fuzzy overall sound, and I don't care about anything after Rust in Peace, but Megadeth in their heyday were a damn good band in all the ways I appreciate now as an old fart.

in 1990s Michigan you get issued a negative approach "total recall" discography as a teen. Covered many NA songs with many bands. They were long broken up by the time I first heard them, and the bands after didn't appeal to me at all. The best "NA" performance I saw was JB singing a few songs with the members of Vitamin X playing. It was probably 2007 and Easy Action was also on the show, but NA hadn't started playing regular shows again.

I was at a show around then and a band I didn't know who it was really good and then after wards manzig told me it was 80% NA covers. I didn't recognize the songs!

Disco is great - it only got so much hate because everything was disco-fied i the late 70s and early 80s. I rarely hear it these days unless I put something on.

My answer is: the radio. I started putting on a local independent station - and maybe half the time there's a show playing cool shit I've never heard. It really runs the gamut of genres. I heard a Peter Gabriel song the other night that made me look up the album: Scratch from 1978 - and it's got Robert Frip and Tony Levin playing on it! I'm sure some of you guys were well aware of that, but it was news to me.
