I've been meaning to share some stuff that's not really my work - rather done in collaboration with the outstanding dusty peterson aka ungodlywarlock!


first thing: this is was cover submission for the research paper I published at the beginning of this year. the journal picks based on the basis of visual appeal *and* the sizzle of the science. our submission didn't end up getting selected, but I don't think it had anything to do with the art - my field is not really the sexiest one and they had put something from my field on the cover like two months prior, so it'd be way too soon for them to feature Argonaute (Ago) on the cover again! anyway, whenever anyone asks me for a PDF of my paper, I send them a version that has this image on the last page since I love it so much.

second thing: this one was part of a puzzle-hunt thing I made for my girlfriend's birthday. she and I kinda got together via doing the Jumble (see my last post here!) so I wanted to make her a custom jumble. the answer is a punny name of an ice cream she likes (the next clue in her hunt was attached to a pint of this stuff in the freezer) that I repurposed for the cartoon. I'll post the answer below for everyone except jumble-king justin... ANYWAY sweaty totally loved it and I was thrilled to have some spot-on custom art for the game.

jumble solution: ANYWAY dusty has been awesome to work with and if anyone needs some quick digital cartoons for any reason, this dude can do a great job in a speedy fashion, and he won't break the bank! seriously: thanks, dusty!
