Thanks Kevin! I managed to put it together in a few hours while I had winter break from work. The "Say it" mode on the Speak & Spell scarred me as a kid, because once it started, I couldn't stop it. My brother would torment me with that and the Flash Gordon / Queen soundtrack when Ming kills a guy near the start of the movie.

Appreciate that, I play a shitty guitar right now ("laguna" guitar center brand lol) but I just go direct into a Line6 pocket pod with a tone I like in that, then into a focus rite Scarlett solo interface hooked to the computer with USB, then I record in Ableton, and I use the free Audacity wave editor to add a little compression, cut out some of the 250 and 500 Hz frequencies (the "muddy" frequencies more or less), and normalize the wave. Drum machine is FL studio free version with some drum samples I got a long time ago, I don't remember where or what they are. Bass is pretty quiet I think, but it's just a shitty bass, same setup but I don't cut any frequencies and add more compression. oh and I record guitar twice, pan one track to the left a bit and the other to the right a bit, which is pretty important for the guitar sound.

I record all my shit myself and it's just my Boss Katana Record Out through a Behringer UMC audio interface; I put it through Garageband on my phone and just program my drums via GB's automatic drummers and mix in some self-programmed stuff. And bass I plug directly into the interface into GB and use some of the bass amp sims on GB.

I record all my shit myself and it's just my Boss Katana Record Out through a Behringer UMC audio interface; I put it through Garageband on my phone and just program my drums via GB's automatic drummers and mix in some self-programmed stuff. And bass I plug directly into the interface into GB and use some of the bass amp sims on GB.

I started work on two songs for the PME Spotify comp. I invited some friends to also play on the tracks but they haven't done their parts yet. These are the demo versions with a drum machine - in a year this might be a real band:

Thanks! I watched a shitload of youtube videos on how to best mix and master using Garageband iOS and it surprisingly worked out pretty well for me.
