Remixed my latest song and finally dig the balance of the guitars and drums. I'll be adding additional parts to this and leads at some point but just wanted to share in the meantime.

Thanks dude. It's the first time I really loved a guitar tone that I've recorded that doesn't sound overly muddy or shitty or processed. It's also the first time I've recorded metal with my strat (the left channel guitar) and I was really happy with the sound it gave me. Just need to find some time to add to it and finish the arrangement.

I like that behringer Vtone better as a stand alone distortion than a direct box

This one was recorded with the Behringer. Had it on the Marshall-type setting. I love the OS-2 through my amp but for recording I haven't found a way to dial it in to my liking yet.

Finally recorded with my new audio interface. Love how thick the guitars came out. Need to fix up the drums, I was just messing around with the auto drummer features in GarageBand and put in one that didn't totally suck or take away from the song. But the shell of the ideas I came up with came out to my liking:

Just fucking around - sequenced 'Watcher of the Skies' by Genesis into the Super Nintendo.
Sounds kinda fucked up thanks to YT compression... but how upset can you be about that when the machine in question used like .00432kb samples to begin with?

Volume levels in this fucking song are hard to get right, esp with this kinda implementation.

I remember Michael Jackson being frustrated with the limited power of the Genesis sound chip. He alleged wrote some of the music for Sonic The Hedgehog 3 but had his name removed. One of the songs in the game sounds very similar to “Stranger In Moscow”

Yeah the legends surrounding MJs involvement in Sonic 3 make for a really deep and convoluted rabbit hole. I still never really felt like ive heard the real story.

I think some of the reason for the ambiguity may be because the first allegations of his naughty behavior towards kids could've been during Sonic 3s development.... so sega could've just adopted a policy of conplete silence about it.

There's some obvious similarities between the game audio and MJs songs, but i dont know the truth about it.

Fwiw I agree with the pedo, in that the Genesis is fucking impossible to work with, its not a bad chip at all but FM is a puzzle to begin with and controlling that from the outside is a fools errand.

Hahaha that's the first to be compared to a fruity sound.

There's a different couple of stutter sounds but I think the most prominent one is the snoring sound which is basically snorting through my nose.

Yeah the drummer kid was 16 when he recorded this album. I even got him to tab out an iniQuity song for me. I hope he doesn't get burned out. He has his own one-man project: Anal Stabwound (haha)

Remixed and completed the arrangements on a few of my riff demos. Started writing lyrics and am looking for vocalists and I'll eventually add some better bass and leads to the tracks once they're fleshed out a little more. Happy with how the guitars came out, at least.
