After tomorrow I get a week off. I think I might go pick up Resonance of Fate tomorrow and lounge around naked and play video games all fucking week.
Maybe go camping or something if I can fit it into my busy gaming schedule...

I finally bought a Dreamcast for 30 bucks. It comes with a game that is a secret until I get it. Any suggestion on games to get for it besides Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 and the various fighting games I want for it?

Honestly I'd fuckin skip the Sonic games unless you're on a nostalgia trip, and even then, don't bother with the 2nd one. That's just my perspective, though. Assuming your fighting games include MVC2, some SF title, and Power Stone, don't sleep on:

Ikaruga & Rez - both fucking mandatory
Under Defeat - Play AS anime nazis!
Jet Grind Radio
Chu-Chu Rocket
Also-ran - House of the Dead 2, although unless you're down to drop some dough on a zapper, you'll be playing with an onscreen target controlled by the analog stick. Still great fun, though.

Crazy Taxi
Hydro Thunder (Despite not being widescreen, an excellent port of the arcade version)
Seaman (Just talking about this makes me want to play it again)
Silver (Some didn't like this port of the PC game, I loved it)
Stupid Invaders (Pointy and clicky)

Bah. There were two gripes about the game. It was too much like a PC RPG (which is a non-brainer since it's a port of a PC game), and the camera was too far back in some areas. THIS was a problem at times... I mean that camera is back literally a mile in spots. But I liked the storyline and the PC gameplay on a console at that time was pretty cool.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
It wasn't that PC really. It reminded me of Zelda in alot of respects (leveling system, camera, boss fights, upgrades, etcs). The graphics were very.. Final Fantasy 7ish too.
My problems with Silver was the controls (not that good) and the fact that they don't tell you what to do 99% of the time, which meant you had to run around aimless looking for the next scene trigger. This would be fine if there was other things to do inthe game, like say, in Oblivion or whatever, but there is usually one goal at a time in Silver.. and it sucks when you don't know how to do it.
Also, it's buggy as fuck

Evolution had it's fair share of flaws but it was still one of a very limited few decent rpgs on the dreamcast. I didn't think it was that bad.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
even with the limited rpgs, it's pretty low on the totem pole.
Skies of Arcadia is awesome as fuck
EGG is a fan-fucking-tastic game
Phantasy Star Online holds up
Grandia 2... ok, it's not good but it's miles better than Evolution
Silver, also not good, but better than Evolution
Time Stalkers is the only RPG on the Dreamcast that is worse than Evolution...
(i haven't played Record of Lodoss War or Dragonriders)
