Road Movie - 7
Father's Day - 9
Beg! - 8
War for the Planet of the Apes - 6
Infinity War - 5... maybe even a 4.
- shit was spread way too thin, but that's inevitable when you're making a 2 and 1/2 hour sequel to 18 movies.
- wasn't feeling Thanos' motivation, and he has the same problems that all the villains have in these movies.
- only just barely tapped into the potential for sheer visual insanity that the Infinity Gauntlet offers.

Infinity War - 6.5/10
It’s all well-trod territory. I was honestly kinda surprised they trotted out the ol’ “throw endless hoardes of fodder at the good guy team until they survive at the last minute” shit that ended the last movie ?
Comedy is well delivered but so focus-grouped and safe that it makes you feel ashamed if you laff, even inwardly.
I don’t really understand why Thanos has four infinity stones of nigh limitless power, yet still engages in back-and-forth fistfights with Iron Man ? Doesn’t he have the power to just teleport enemies totally elsewhere, or stop his heart with a thought, or render him braindead, or like.. do basically anything within his imagination ?
Visually it was pretty spectacular.
Overall it’s competent, but just barely. It’s the bare minimum quality it should be, but sometimes not even that.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
avengers infinity war 6.5/10 SPOILERS how the fuck can you shock anyone by doing the only noteworthy thing that was discussed in the trailer or the entire movie - end spoilers! I liked Thanos way more than I expected and, like Killmonger, I think I'm kinda on his side. not sure if we understand "balance" in the same way though...

Infinity War - 7/10
Works better than you'd think, but it's still one of those over-crowded, endless Marvel movies. Thanos is awesome. I also always liked the Russos' take on the Avengers better.
Completely movie-ruining spoiler discussion follows.
Embarrassingly enough, I had to have this pointed out to me, but the movie pretty much tells you how they're going to undo the ending/cliffhanger - Dr. Strange mentions that he saw a bajillion possible futures and one where they beat Thanos, and when he just hands Thanos the Time Stone, he says it's "the only way" with no explanation (and nobody ever asks for one, which is silly.) Thanos even sets it up by saying, "No tricks."
I thought for a moment that it was pretty ballsy to have the movie end the way it does, but it's really just dumb once you realize what's going to happen next.

Dead end Drive-In 8/10
Great Ozploitation flick from 1986. In a fucked up alternative version of the 1990s, a dude and his chick go to the drive-in cinema and when the police themselves steal his wheels, they realize that they're stuck in some sort of concentration camp. Excellent car chases & stunts, lots of unhinged characters, great lines ("Shit, we're on fire!") and even some tits.
Manhunt 3/10
John Woo made a new film! Woohooo! In Japan! Sure, why not? For netflix! Ok, bring it on! Long story short, the man completely lost his touch. Extremely annoying editing, painfully stupid dialogue, tons of cringy Engrish (of course, there's no reason whatsoever that the characters speak English with each other), shitty overacting, boring action scenes (there's a boat chase that mostly consist of CGI... why?), CGI blood, runs almost two hours but feels like three. If you love Woo's old films, don't bother with this bullshit.
