+ Government Hooker: as I expected, this is a solid track, Dark Gaga

- Hair: actually I might leave this on as a temp/trial "+", I do like
the post-chorus... "Imma hairry amma hurrr" I think this is this album's
"telephone"; idiotic lyrics but works anyway

+ Scheisse: pretty good. dirty, eurodisco music with plenty of bleep blood chirp fart

+ Bloody Mary: Dark Gaga strikes again! would be OK if it had a decent
chorus... anyway I will leave this one on the ipod but it's just middle-of-the-road

- Bad Kids: pretty stupid track, has one of those terrible chord
changes that pissed you off about "Dance in the Dark"...
THESE lyrics are distractingly stupid. "I'm a bad kid (baby)" four
million times / "don't be insecure if yer heart is pure".

- Highway Unicorn: hahaha the "dubstep" wubb-wubb sorta shows up in
the intro... sorta good through the verse then another DanceInTheDark
chorus! "she's got a rainbow syrup in her heart that she
bleeds"!?!?!

- Heavy Metal Lover: could be MORE HEAVY METAL considering the title,
pretty useless track

+ Electric Chapel: good music, subdued decent vox - this is an OK song
- sounds a lot like something from the '80s but I can't place it...

- You & I: this is actually not that "new", I saw her play it live and
she did it on a few TV shows. this ballad is 100% her work and 100%
zzzzzzz... do not want. Even worse is the embedded grammatical
problem: "there's somethin' 'bout you and I" NO.

- Edge of Glory: sucks! actually this song is really similar to the
opener, so the album is bookended by overblown crap

I like "lady gaga" and her butt, but the reason that anyone gives a fuck is very clear to me. Yousee.. I'm younger than many people here, and I was watching a shameful program called total request live when they debuted a new artist named britney spears. We also got 4 clones right after. This was all tasteless artless garbage, and showed to all how irrelevant pop music is to those who have minds. It was all tailor made for unthinking hicks, who accept all without question and beg for more with shit smeared mouths.

Lady gaga is the first pop musician that my generation has known to have ANY interesting thing about her, we are so dumbed down at this point that wearing a costume is a huge deal.

She is also head and shoulders more attractive than the downs looking trailer trash/southern look of other pop stars. Lady gaga has a nose, her face is the face of a human being. Not the little degenerated button nose and dull eyes of a southerner.

That said I avoid her as much as possible. Better pop is still pop.

I actually like this song a bit now! Funny you mention your dead gammy - she said this song was for (inspired by) her grandfather who passed away in the last year.

Anytime you're ready to trade listens, I would consider Revolver (and not The Haunted album) if you would dare to make it through Born This Way The Record Album. And I won't even expose you to the extended version - those three extra songs are really the pits (I think two of them were left off because they BOTH sound like Madonna songs!).

I think the lesson here is that pop music is pop music, and there's nothing terribly special about any of it. There is tremendous beauty in almost all music, but I think many of you are mistaken in believing that high art exists in 20th century pop music - any of it. I mean rock n roll, dance music, hip hop, singer songwriter stuff, whatever the fuck.

You can just choose to listen and enjoy, or drive yourself insane not finding complex magic where there is only simple magic.

I don't think Lady Gaga is any different than Briney Spears, but neither is Bob Dylan or Johnny Cash or Pink Floyd or the Ramones or Carcass. It's all doritos and candy
