Fuck yes! Somewhere between '93 and '95 I had a cassette with Arise and BTR recorded on it. Listened to it at school almost every day for a solid year. Because of that, I haven't thrown either of them on in quite awhile, I wore 'em out....barfingawesome wrote:I'm going to also add:

A long time ago in Dallas I pulled up at a stoplight and looked over into the car next to me. In it were two short-haired teenage boys blasting "Arise" and viciously headbanging, like they bobblehead dolls. It was so out of place/incongruous that I couldn't stop laughing. A lot of people loved that album.

You know...after all of this time the only complaint I have about that album is how much it cost to make. It would cost $200 today. yeah, i'm with you on their nowadays fanbase; luckily i haven't seen too many MBV tees to cause eyerolling out the skull, but currently it almost makes me cringe to admit i love MBV (and shoegaze in general).
