Bridesmaids - 7.5/10 - The dress shop scene... :awesome:
X-Men: First Class - 7.5/10 - Agree that it's the best X-Men movie. Banshee looked like a cocky asshole, which was cool. They kept douchebag Havoc's appearance short, but besides Bacon and Fassbender (seriously, fuck Ian McKellan in his Shakespearean remodeling of Magneto, as well as Frasier Crane's beast), McAvoy put in a really solid performance. I think I prefer him to Patrick Stewart. Unlike Stewart, you actually believe that McAvoy is trying to save mutants. Everyone else was forgettable, and god damn Rose Byrne is waaaay better in Bridesmaids than this. My wife even said she'd eat out January Jones, so I have that imaginary threesome in the future.
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Ending is an obvious let down, but "I agree with everything you say...but you killed my mother," with slow coin slice was fucking :moreawesome:

And haha, Darwin. Even the mutant black guys can't catch a break.
Most times, second movie in the series is the best, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Kung Fu Panda 2, Priest, Thor and True Grit Blu-Ray up this week. :tup2:

not to argue about X-men for the rest of time, but I found the scoreand its application to be ridiculously intrusive, overbearing, and clearly trying to make up for the lack of any capable direction

Grown Ups - 4/10

What a mess. I thought I was in for a nice, lighthearted comedy. The movie barely had a plot, started out ok, but got incredibly boring and way too nice after about 15-20 minutes. God I hate Kevin James. I hate everyone in that movie. 0/10

not to be intrusive myself but I find that you are dissecting this movie way too much as for it is a comic book movie.

Whose content is filled with ridiculous situations and stories which is why people love them to begin with.
Magneto's back story in the comics is being a holocaust survivor and hamfisted or not I don't know how you could think the story failed as Fassbender made the character actually interesting to watch. To see him evolve as villain, I thought, was well done and satisfying in its conclusion.

It just feels like you can't respect this movie when you aren't respecting the source.

It's a story of a Nazi Kevin Bacon single handedly starting WWIII with superheros.
I feel like every comic series has told this story

Killer Shrews.

HAY--those look like DOGS.

they are dogs.

:what:

I can dig some "bad" b movies, but this was a bore.

1/10 cans of kal-can, just to feed the doggies.

It's not the what, but the how. Fassbender was never sympathetic and came across as a villain the whole time. The scene in the bar was great and would have been better with no music. Saying fucking
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
"I've been at the mercy of men who were 'just following orders' before" / "never again"
during that climactic scene... as if the two armies at sea are comparable to the third reich? What the fuck was that? It's offensively, distractingly stupid. Also there was no camaraderie or friendship/bonding shown between Charles and Erik... I mean they tried but it worked as well as the Padme/Anakin love story. There are just problems everywhere man.

And why did you quote me saying that the score was used as a crutch for braindead direction? Then accuse me of not grading on enough of a comic book curve? I already said I liked Thor way better... I respect Odin.

Fassbender was awesome. You could tell they probably cast him on that bar scene from Basterds alone... it's so similar to the bar scene
in X-Men FC. German-speaking, high tension, etc..

The Hangover 2 - 2/10

Nice job on getting a Korean to play a Thai...almost as bad as what Krieg talked about with Sniper 2, . Also, Mel Gibson was supposed to play the tattooist yet the cast protested? Mike Tyson, he's a real stand up guy.
