Yeah, I think I just had it built up and was disappointed.

The 39 Steps - John Buchan - 6/10
What We All long For - Dionne Brand - 0/10
The worst kind of book. Toronto is an amazing, polyphonic city and the suburbs are where you go to die!
Green Grass Running Water - Thomas King - 5/10

T.H.U.G. life by "Sanyika Shakur". I'd give it a 5. I read this guy's first book which was autobiographical and it ruled. This book is fiction and a bit hacky. We get it already.. you're a muslim.

Must be better than the album, because other than the stellar cover art, that album blows dog nuts.... 1/10 as an album.

The Hunger Games - 8/10 part of me wants to rate it lower but I kind of loved it. Not as kiddish as i always assumed. It's still a young adult book and a love story but at the heart it's a brutal human hunting survival story with hard sci fi mixed in. I'm really excited for the movie even though there is no way they will be able to pull of some of the best stuff the book offers.

Really can't get into the Wheel of Time series. I know it's supposed to get better after the first book but I just don't have the patience for this right now. I'll come back to it in the future. I think I'll try out the Dark Tower series instead...

I was going to say that the first 4-5 books are pretty good but then I realized I just want to cross myself when thinking about that bullshit.

I think I might get a Kindle Touch or some other ereader too. Anyone use an ereader? Which one do you have and how is it? Experiences downloading books?

Welp, that's good enough for me. Gonna shelf the wheel of time series indefinitely.

i've got a sony e-reader. the e-ink thing is fantastic and carrying around giant books on a tiny thing like that rules. once i figured out to search for RETAIL titles on demonoid the whole damn game changed.

the worst part of this is following paths and going yes YES YES YES only to get to the end and have already read the book :(

i've had similar problems with formatting but not from RETAIL quality titles. you won't be able to find all the books you want for free in perfect format but you can find a surprising amount.

i got mine about a year and a half ago and can confirm you can change text size and on newer ones you can even change font type. turning pages only has a very very brief pause. boot-up does take about a minute but only if you don't use it for a few days or it's at very low batteries and it turns off; it just is in sleep mode otherwise and turns on right away. my battery life is probably around two weeks and i use it almost every day.

I don't know if I should get an Amazon Kindle? A Barnes and Noble Nook? Or a Sony ereader like you guys have? too many choices. I'd probably download books like you guys.

if you're planning to download books then you should get one that allows you to put pirated books on it. a few years back i was looking at the kindle and i vaguely remember reading that you couldn't put pirated books on it butt maybe it's been "jailbroken" now or smoething.
Well shit, if I'm gonna spend that kind of money then I might as well get a used Ipad 2 or something.
