I doubt this game would get a 2 page thread on here to be honest with you?

So, I don't know if any of you mens are into shoot-'em-ups but I discovered today that there's a shitload of iOS versions of CAVE games in the app store.

http://www.cave-world.com/en/

I downloaded DoDonPachi Blissful Death (which is also the cheapest one, at $4.99) and am playing it on my iPhone.   And the touchscreen controls feel AMAZING, to the point that it seems like the way these games were always meant to be played. I actually want to buy an iPad now just to play bullet hell shooters.

I don't do hand held games, but... but I'm going to have to get a 3DS now, huh?

Glad it's not a remake. I kind of want a 3ds anyways.

Me too. I'm going with this instead for the time being

but I would pay $500 and submit to 3 rapings for a LttP sequel, so I'll definitely be getting a 3ds by Christmas, I guess.

the thing I posted is actually a Chinese gaming tablet, it's just designed to look exactly like the WiiU thingy.

I think I'm giving the WiiU about another two years or so unless something absolutely critical comes out, which I sorta doubt

Hmm! 3DS plays DS titles as well. Although, it looks like I'd get this thing for Mario and Zelda titles only. I'm not finding any Metroid or great Castelvania games.

They'll both arrive on the 3DS eventually. In the case of Castlevania you can probably look forward to at least 5 completely interchangable releases with names like "Tambre of Ruefullness" "Foxtrot of Melancholia" or "Music of Bad". Personally I couldn't stand the titles in either franchise for the DS, but everyone else gave them very high marks.

the 3DS is looking killer right now actually.

EDIT:

monster hunter, fire emblem, new super mario bros, new zelda announced (similar to a link to the past, but 3d and new dungeons)

hahahahahahh

well... I'm figuring that's just a demo and probably not the real game... bazooper

I can't say I'm digging on the graphics too much.... but the 3Ds is goofy like that, you need to actually fucking see it in physical reality before you have any idea what it goddamn looks like...

This is making me want to do a Zelda marathon. Finishing Castlevania 1 and 3 on NES, plus Dracula X and Castlevania 4 on SNES a couple weeks ago, was some the best fun I've had gaming in a while. Think I'll play Zelda 1 and 2 NES, then a Link to the Past SNES. Are the Gameboy color/advance and DS zelda games any fun?

and yeah, the original games look 1000x better than the new screens

The original GB game Link's Awakening is definitely one of the best in the entire franchise. They remade that for GBC, as Link's Awakening DX. 100% Jame Approved.

The other two original GBC games are also quite good, but basically just more of the same - I would save them for the ass end of a marathon, myself.

Minish Cap for the GBA is a little meh IMO, although in recent years it seems to be gathering of the juggalos a retroactive cult following like Majora's Mask. The puzzles and graphics are really good, and it has an odd character that stands out in comparison to everything else in the series.

Phantom Hourglass for the DS was fucking amazing at the time - I'm not sure how well it would stand up now, even though it's only been a couple of years. Never played Spirit Tracks (2nd one for the DS) but lady jame said it wasn't too hot.

i LOVE majora's mask and think it's miles better than OoT and is probably in my top 3 zelda games. minish cap on the other hand is kind of just a charmless cover band version of zelda. the oracles games don't get enough love

wasn't minish cap the capcom one? i had it as a wee shaver. was a decent game

Yeah Capcom did Minish Cap, as well as the two GBC games. Odd era.

the Oracle games are fucking masterpieces. played Link's Awakening DX with my grandma back in the day. very good times

just pick that 3DS up now, mens. Fire Emblem, Weegee's Mansion, Super Mario 3D Land (excuse the embarrassing title), plus all that shit coming out just announced... oh nelly. also, i don't think i've even turned that 3D slider on once so, definitely not a necessity
