I think TF summarized it as "you stop shooting back first" here like 20 years ago. That's really pretty much it right there.

One big problem is that Hamas is still committed to a two state solution, rolling back the clock on maps to 1967. That's not feasible. A two state solution will always devolve into the mess we have now where Palestine doesn't have full autonomy within its borders, constant Israeli settler incursions, etc.

The only long-term sustainable solution is a single, explicitly secular state. Neither government wants that. (I'm collectively deeming Hamas and Fatah "the government" for Palestine because lol.) Too many psychotic religious right-wing elements in Israel's government; Palestine arguably has some of the components for parts of a government, all of which are corrupt and/or extremely corrupt.

I don't think the media's framing of Palestinians as terrorists is great, but yeah... what they've done is probably closest to what is considered terrorist acts. That said, the people who have been stealing their homes are all Israeli civilians who have previously served in the military, as that's a mandated part of Israeli citizenship. From a Palestinian perspective, these aren't exactly all innocent bystanders getting targeted. I'm not going to pretend to have more than a fairly surface-level understanding of the conflict, but I think it's pretty hard not to say that the Palestinians have their backs against the wall. At what point do people think it's acceptable for them to fight back?

I'm certain I'm not saying anything new here, but it's pretty fucked up that criticisms of the fascist Israeli state are immediately branded as anti-semitism. It's not jewish people who are the problem.

It's a good time to be skeptical of outlets that get breaking news from Twitter (which is unfortunately a lot). There's a ton of misinformation and old videos circulating.

Everything I can do with it feels outdated already, instantly, because there is always something hotter coming down the pipe. It's like, beating an atari game was a skill once too...most laymen I show stuff to are pretty impressed at what is possible once you know a little bit, it's just not really anything to brag about, especially if you're doing cheesy superhero shit. Calling it AI assisted art is inaccurate short selling and just another flailing attempt to define and pigeonhole a process; there is some human skill involved, like how you order up what is to be pictured for starters, then manipulating and guiding, editing and redoing this part or that. You can mask and regenerate isolated parts of a picture now like a photoshop function, fix a hand or face, building in the background, bigger gun, whatever; I suppose just knowing that and how to do it is an actual skill once you know how to get what you want from it, but to me it just seems like a small detail in a larger skill set. I guess the more control that is added, the more of a skill it will become, but it will all eventually be obsolete/old school skills because of how fast the tech is evolving. I know enough to get satisfactory stuff sometimes out of a few different programs and places, but that's it so far. I'm way behind the learning curve at this point, there is tons of cool new stuff I haven't even tried yet. More than anyone has enough time for really, just like video games, with levels to climb...but maybe more satisfying because you get stuff to show for all the time and energy you put in.

My wife wants a new primary care physician. Primary care physicians definitionally must be in network under our insurance. The insurer maintains a list of doctors who are in network. Only physicians on the list may be designated primary care physicians. The insurer does not guarantee the accuracy of the list.

I went through the same thing and was able to call insurance bro and they were able to look in their database when I gave them the doctor's name.

I'm not angry but I don't like it. Someone from a band died. Now every youtube video you can find - live, tiny desk, music video, whatever- has 100 "forever in our hearts; sorry for your loss; i'm crying right now" comments on the top.

I stopped using social media and deleted my Facebook account after realizing that I'd posted a retroactively embarrassing attempt at a heartfelt eulogy whenever an artist or musician I liked had died. I combed through my own post history and found like 7 of them.
