I just realized there appears to be a separate EU version of this one - at least Amazon UK has a picture of the cover with a PEGI rating displayed on it. I guess that means I won't run into anyone from around here, but I really, really hope it also means I'll have lag-free multiplayer this time. I have the US version of Demon's Souls, and it's just ridiculous sometimes.

Some are reminiscent of Demon's Souls' environments, like the rickety, swampy, disease-ridden Blighttown

hey let's fashion a level after the worst fucking part of the previous game
:wank: :wank: :wank: :wank:

Fancy yourself as a hairy-chested gamer, hardest of the hardcore, with extensive knowledge of the arcane conventions of RPGs? If not, look away now, as trying to play Dark Souls may well turn out to be the most frustrating experience of your life.

I don't know why but everyone talking about it being so hard has me geeking out so like a mongo

because it's rare to see games these days that are both incredibly hard but also totally beatable? i'll take "satisfying" over "fun" most days of the week

because i thought one of the levels in the first game sucked ? durr

if anything this whole getting cursed and losing half your energy bar, even across the divide of death, and that being stackable (ie. you can have only 1/32nd of your energy bar left when you respawn) and the cure is a billion miles away is much more likely to make me ragequit

i didn't platinum demon's souls because i would prefer not to grind out 100+ hours into farming in games at this point in my life

look at mr. platinum suddenly getting so judicious with his use of time
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
i didn't platinum demon's souls for the same reason (despite being addicted to the game for a while)

I really wish I could call you guys a bunch of pussies making excuses, but Demon's Souls is still the only game I've ever platinumed (unless we count getting all the achievements for ME2 on the 360), so I kinda feel like yeah, maybe not. I just find it strange that Riley of all people quit the game. You never finished it, right?

nah, i didn't. i got right near the end (you'd probably know better than i do how close i was if you look at my trophy list; i think i had like three more demons or something) and just got really sick of committing myself for a few hours at a time to the game. i frequently feel like playing it until i actually start playing it and then i just get annoyed at petty little things like the noise when you pick up items and then i just turn it off. i'm sure i'll finish it someday but i really thought that someday would be in the meantime between getting back from thailand and the release of dark souls and, well... here we are.

my excuse for quitting was that my best friend went back into rehab and the ps3 is in his room and it makes me sad when i'm in there playing it by myself.
