I dislike KC in general. as a Braves fan, the Mets scare me. but I like the Kimbrel trade, shedding all Upton salary.

baseball is still the best.

I think Atlanta just acknowledged they were fucked this year in the division and sold high. No shame there.

I officially hate the Royals. Last year I would have given anything to see them beat SF. Fuck.

Go A's.

I think the Braves should have just hung on to upton's contract and gotten better prospects for Kimbrel, personally...but it's not my money, so what do I know?

So psyched about the mets. I don't think the d'arnaud injury matters much, as I think plawecki might have even more offensive upside and seems ready. the Blevins injury hurts more, especially since Vic Black just had a setback...they have plenty of young relief options, but it's getting a little bit silly

that Mets/Yankees series this weekend will be really interesting.

there are so many reasons to like being a Mets fan now. I love the NL East, so...

-best broadcast team
-Matt Harvey
-deGrom
-new Duda
-Lagares CF mastery
-win streak during major injuries
-great story
-shake shack

cheers

Cubs are 12-7 despite no wins, and only one decent start overall, from Lester. Bryant and Rizzo have OBPs damn close to .500, Castro is killing it too... team overall is at or near the top of baseball in steals, pitches per AB, and walks. This has been a fucking fun season so far and the first time since probably '08 that it hasn't been painful to watch the Cubs.

anyone see that nats/braves game? what the fuck?

I'm pretty interested in seeing the completely empty orioles game tomorrow. it sounds spooky. I also imagine that you're going to hear everything anyone says. and no music or any of that nonsense...

that was very likely the worst game in the past 30 years for a Braves fan

well

he's gotten better offensively, yeah. still swings too much, not much in-game pop (though he has a little bit of power potential), and he doesn't steal bases like he should (he did it and did it well at the end of last season, because they gave him a mandatory green light, but now he's back to being super cautious). improved, though. he has really good strike zone coverage, but that's not always a good thing...he swings at pitches he shouldn't be able to touch, somehow does, and makes weak contact. if he walked a bit more, I think you'd immediately see his slugging percentage jump a little bit too.

defensively, he's been the best CF in the majors since he came up. even now, with what I suspect is a fucked up arm, he's making highlight reel plays nearly every day. totally fucking outrageous. gets to everything.

the overall parity this season makes for good baseball

Harper, Stanton, Bryant making noise

it crossed my mind the other day, that Bryce Harper is on a tear we'd respect from Miguel Cabrera. but he's STILL younger than most minor league prospects. let that sink in. his power might end up incredible, historic

I don't know if he's going to end up being a better overall player than trout, considering how far behind he is defensively and baserunning-wise, but I think harper might be the best hitter in the majors right now. he looks fucking unstoppable. and yeah, a year younger than bryant? I'm excited to watch these two win a ton of MVPs...I hope he can stay on the field.

Jose Fernandez hit 97, struck out 7 in a rehab start

there's no guy I like more in baseball...

fuck Loria and David Samson...but if he comes back healthy...with Stanton going...the Marlins become a very fun team to watch
