I'll look for it on the Shittube. I didn't watch it when it aired the other night, I forgot.
Also, I listened to the new album once. I dig it, but I think I'll give it another spin today to form a more solid opinion.

I'm watching the Muppets Special right now, and I think I have to concur with you. ARTPOP is a song that sounds better live. I like it on the album, but I think the live version has more power to it or something.

she just goes kind of insane and makes bonkers faces/motions live... the youtube comments on the swinefest performance are all people sobbing about the de-hee-hee'd album version and I think I am with them

Listening to the new one now. I think this is her best one to date. Born This Way had some good stuff, but it had some real clunkers too, and some of the songs like Judas were cool except for the choruses (something about the tempo shift in that chorus annoys me). The Fame Monster was great, but short, and The Fame again suffered from a few real stinkers. ARTPOP has maybe one or two clunkers (still not big into Jewels and Drugs) but it's definitely her most consistent one I think.

I agree it's the best, but I don't the best songs are as good as on other records. Less duds for sure.

also look for my cameo in this parody, a tale about the pressure to publish in high-impact journals and the relief that can be found by publishing in an open-access journal such as PLOS One

it's a little too niche for broad appeal so I don't recommend anybody watch that
unless you're talking about the upcoming do what u want video, which yes everyone must watch

Such a try-hard. At the end of the day she just does pop music that doesn't sound all that different from anything.

if watched whole video, glad it was entertaining enough to keep attention
if not, is critique valid? /beatles'd

Everything she does is always in reference to something else. She can have Jeff Koons do her cover, do photosets with R Kelly that hint at interracial porn, wear 80s clothes and look like Boy George, nudity like Madonna in the 90s etc. but there is not a hint of substance, especially in her music, it's just mediocre. Not that I expect anything else from contemporary popular music projects like hers.
Didn't watch the video, my post was in response to the Boy George tribute pic.

popular art never references or recontextualizes; good point
I don't really want to argue any more. I do think she's consistently entertaining and doesn't seem to be in any sort of downward spiral (thanks, PR team?), and for that much I'm grateful.

She does show her snizz every now and then... there's that.

I don't think her crazy faces/singing past 2:45 here are dependent on too much exterior shit (beware, muppets appear)

that's all pop culture has been since the movie quote replaced the joke. most people are too stupid to know better or expect more.

In the mid-90's there was some buzz around the KC/Lawrence music scene for some reason. It was supposed to be the "next Seattle"". All these shitty bands got signed by offshoots of major labels, and one even got to open for KISS on their reunion tour. Nobody sold any albums, as and they all ended up in debt with the labels they signed to. I'm pretty sure none of them read the contracts that stated the band was on the hook for any expenses that weren't recovered by record sales. They were all playing shiny new Fenders and Gibsons that they thought were just gifts from the record label.

this is absolutely fucking hilarious
I have zero clue how that record could cost that much
I bet she is just playing the record company to get more cash for her producing / arts & crafts crew?
she, the person, is rolling in incredible amounts of money and that will not change any time soon based on the continued success (and quality IMHO) of her global tours
sitting on some impossible expectations for this video...
